On October 23, 2014, Reynolds American Tobacco, the maker of Camel, Pall Mall, Newport, to name just a few, will no longer allow the use of cigarettes, cigars or pipes inside conference rooms, offices or elevators. However, smokeless tobacco products, such as, electronic cigarettes, will be allowed.
Vaping is an excellent alternative to smoking. There is no guarantee that you will stop smoking; however, it has been proven countless numbers of times that, if you have the mindset to stop smoking, vaping will help you accomplish that goal. The e-liquids that are used for vaping come in a variety of flavors and nicotine levels - 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg, and 24mg nic. These nicotine levels will aid you in your quest to stop smoking. The amount of cigarettes you smoke daily will determine what level of nicotine to start with, and then you wean down to 0mg nic when you no longer feel a need to smoke.
Ingredients are an important consideration when choosing to vape. The e-liquids used in vaping are comprised of VG - Vegetable Glycerin and PG - Propylene Glycol, flavoring and nicotine, if desired. Both PG and VG are FDA approved. VG has a sweet taste and is used as an agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, pharmaceuticals, as well as other uses. PG is used as a preservative in food, along with other uses.
On the contrary, there are over 4000 chemicals in tobacco smoke, and at least 69 of those chemicals are known to cause cancer! The list of 599 additives approved by the U.S. government for use in the manufacture of cigarettes is something every smoker should know! Submitted by the five major American cigarette companies to the Department of Health and Human Services in April 1994, this list of ingredients had long been kept a secret. The tobacco companies reporting this information at that time were: American Tobacco Company, Brown & Williamson, Liggett Group, Philip Morris, and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
While these ingredients are approved as additives for foods, they were not tested by burning them, and it is the burning of many of these substances which changes their properties, often for the worse.
