A hydrosalpinx refers to the condition that a fallopian tube is filled with fluid due to injury or infection. It usually affects both fallopian tubes, even when only one tube is affected and usually causes some residual damage to the other. When both tubes are affected Hydrosalpinges is a very severe form of tubal damage and it may make pregnancy impossible. At that time, women can be pregnant only with In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
Surgery
For the treatment of hydrosalpinx, a great many western doctors usually advise their patients to take surgery. In some cases, when the hydrosalpinx is not that serious, it can be repaired and then patient will get the chance to have a baby. A laparoscope will be inserted into the abdomen and an incision will be made to open the blocked fallopian tube while having the operation. Patients can recover from it very quickly and do some normal activities in a few days. But this surgery is much suitable for younger patients because the condition of ovary and quality of egg will decline after 35 years old. Besides, when they are pregnant after the operation, they must be monitored very closely in case that ectopic pregnancy will occur.
As a matter of fact, the chance of this surgery to bring great changes to the condition is very low and it also raises the risk of ectopic pregnancy, many females are advised to accept IVF directly.
In Vitro Fertilization
Usually, in order to increase the rate of success of IVF, the damaged part of the tube will be removed entirely before IVF, because as in some cases, the fertility drugs may cause some bad effects to the fallopian tubes. Blocked, fluid-filled tubes also can leak into the uterus, posing a risk of infection after embryo transfer.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) can bypass the fallopian tubes. This treatment involves in receiving medication that can simulate the patients to produce multiple eggs. Then, the eggs will be removed from the ovary and combined with the sperm in the laboratory. The newly fertilized egg will be transferred into women’s uterus through a small tube called a catheter.
Herbal treatment
Herbal treatment is the most conservative method for curing hydrosalpinx. Traditional Chinses doctors often recommend the patients to take herbs or medicine made of herbs like Fuyan pill which specializes in solving kinds of diseases that occur in women’s urinary and reproductive system. Different herbs can work differently. They can remove inflammation and relieve pain, and work on the lesion of the fallopian tubes. Herbal treatment has no side effects at all. Usually, three months is enough to improve the condition.
In addition, patients with hydrosalpinx need to keep a healthy diet and have faith in the treatment. Being optimistic can also helps a lot for the condition.
Fuyan pill is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is made of herbs, and those herbs have their own unique effect on different symptoms.
