Moving? Only Hire The Best

If you are moving from Palm Beach Gardens, or you are moving from one Palm Beach Gardens location to another, you are likely taking a good long look at how you want to pull that move off. The temptations to move yourself are always there because you will have full control over what goes, when and how. The bottom line is that hiring a local mover is actually your best bet. Hiring a local mover is especially prudent if you really are moving from one place in Palm Beach Gardens to another place in Palm Beach Gardens. Getting a local mover means that they will know how to go and where to go but there are a ton of big-time benefits in addition to that you've probably not even thought about. There are also some things you should know when you are looking to hire a local mover so that you aren't going in blind.
Get an estimate on a walk-through
You should never be going into a move with a local mover cold. Most moving companies will have you walk through just how much you are going to be moving, where you are going to be moving and how long you think it's going to take. You can come up with ballpark numbers of course, but it would behoove you to really detail everything you can think of as far as what you are looking to use the local mover for. The more the company knows, the more they will be able to tell you as far as prepping for that move.
Don't pay a massive deposit
The fact of the matter is that when you are dealing with a local mover, there really isn't a reason why you would need to pay some sort of massive deposit before they agreed to do the work. Most companies who are worth their salt are only going to ask that you pay for the move once they have completed it. This is why getting a cost walkthrough is so important. You want to make sure that you know what you are paying and for what services as soon as possible.
Check around and get references
Finding a local mover you trust can be a bit difficult, especially if you are someone who has never needed a local mover before now. Don't ever, ever, ever choose the first place you land on simply because you did a search for a local mover and they popped up. You are going to want to make sure you are doing some research into whatever local mover you are looking at hiring and make sure they are truly worth your time and money.
Sometimes this means talking to people that have used a local mover before in order to get a feel for who they like. Other times, it's about researching that local mover online and seeing what perfect strangers are willing to say when they know they aren't going to be facing any real repercussions. It's up to you on how you actually do the research but you need to make sure there is in fact real research being done on the local mover before you book them to come to make the move.
Packing and the cost that comes with it
This is kind of a "Sophie's Choice" when it comes to moving. If you pack your belongings yourself, the mover can avoid being held responsible if something breaks during the move. This isn't the company avoiding responsibility so much as it's pointing out that they don't know how you packed things and whether the approach you took was the right one. Think about this: if you just piled a bunch of glass items into a box without wrapping them, one good jostle could break them all. If that's the way you packed, then would it really be the fault of the movers if your stuff broke?
On the flip side, there are some movers who will offer their services when it comes to packing. The drawback here is that the local mover is well within their rights to have the "meter running" while they are packing you up. Depending on how much you are looking to have packed, you could run into some pretty expensive costs. Some people are going to opt to packing things themselves just because they know what exactly they are packing how to keep it safe.
Check the move as soon as possible
Many people don't realize that you actually have a period of time where you can report broken things to your movers and your insurance company and get some kind of money back. That time period is generally 9 months. Obviously, that means you have quite a bit of time to double check, but if you want to be believed and you want a positive response, you're going to want to file as soon as possible. After you have filed a claim, your local mover has 30 days to acknowledge your complaint and then 120 days to answer. That means that if you wait 8 months, you're not going to see money for another three. If something valuable has been broken, you're going to want to get those funds as soon as possible.
Check over what has been moved, all of it, as soon as you possibly can. You'll not only be able to replace it sooner but it won't look nearly as fishy as if you do it on deadline day.
