An expert dermatologist is the best person who can help to deal with any problems and conditions relating to skin, hair and nails. From cosmetic issues to serious problems, dermatologists have the tools and equipment to revitalize the appearance of the patients’ skin, hair and nails as they can treat over 30,000 skin conditions that include acne, psoriasis, balding, laser for hair removal as well as skin cancer.
Dermatology is the area of medicine that deals with all the problems related to mucous membranes as skin is the largest organ in the body which covers it from head to toe. It is the first in the line of defense against bacteria and injury is the reflection of the overall body health. Study reports that 42.7% of the patients visit their doctor at some point in their life to get expert advice regarding skin, hair and nail disorders and problems that they face due to any reason.
Dermatologists help you enjoy better looking skin with help of various modes of treatment as well as procedures that are meant to offer quick and effective relief. They also have access to a range of medical as well as cosmetic surgical procedures that make it easy for them to get rid of skin conditions that make it look unappealing. However, it is important to know that a large number of dermatological conditions can be treated with medication and non-invasive therapy and the dermatologists only resort to surgical intervention or invasive treatment if there is no way out. The good thing is that these procedures can take place in outpatient settings and do not require long term hospitalization and the patients can go home as well as the procedure is over and they feel well.
Modes used by dermatologists to treat skin conditions
Biopsy – this is one way with help of which dermatologists can diagnose or rule out certain skin conditions. There are three commonly performed types of skin biopsies; shave biopsy removes small section of the top layer of the skin while punch biopsy removes a small circular area that cuts down deeper layers of the skin and excision biopsy removes the entire area of the abnormal skin to test it for any problems.
Chemical peels – in this procedure, a chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes the skin layer to peel off, leaving a layer of regenerated skin underneath which is better. This procedure is used by dermatologists to treat sun-damage and acne problems and even for cosmetic purposes like age spots and lines under the eyes.
Cosmetic injections – these injections are used by dermatologists for treating wrinkles, scarring and restoring facial fullness. Botulinum toxin or fillers such as collagen and fat are used for this purpose but this process has to be repeated after a few months to retain long term effects of healthy and supple looking skin.
Cryotherapy – this is a quick and easy treatment used by dermatologists for many benign skin conditions such as warts and pimples that do not go away on their own. The skin lesions are frozen and destroyed with help of liquid nitrogen.
Hair restoration and removal – dermatologists carry out hair transplant to restore hair loss and prevent balding while they remove unwanted body hair with help of laser hair epilation or electrolysis that destroys hair follicles. This process is performed by highly specialized skin specialists and renders lasting effects for better appearance.
You will find a large number of dermatologists who perform all these procedures and offer a good service. However, it is necessary to find the best dermatologist in New Jersey who has years of experience as well as expertise in the required field to help you enjoy fine looking skin, hair and nail for a long time.
