In 2016, Marc, the founder and a registered nurse with more than 35 years of experience, recovered from an unexpected injury. During this recuperation period, he delved into books and discovered the art of creating cold-process soap.

Cold-process soap production involves a reaction known as saponification, which entails blending oils such as coconut, olive, sustainable palm, and castor oil with lye and water. The outcome is a bar of soap infused with glycerin, a moisturizer that nourishes the skin.

Leveraging his expertise as a specialist in skin and wound care, Marc had an edge. He recognized the significance of using ingredients and devotedly experimented with and improved his formulations. Today, Bayside Soapworks utilizes a mixture of plant-based oils in its products, including hemp seed oil in its soaps, scrubs, and lotions. Its product line includes 100% vegan soaps, with some options being entirely natural while others contain over 85% components.

Marc's journey from a hobby to a passion is truly inspiring. His dedication to quality and purity has shaped Bayside Soapworks into a brand that values ingredients over chemicals, promoting skin health with its plant-based lotions. These unique creations offer a touch that sets them apart from mass-produced alternatives.

Driven by his love for scents, Marc delved back into candle making with the launch of "Lazy Dog Candle," paying homage to his Boxer companion, Toshi. The hand-poured candles, using a coconut wax blend and cotton wicks, fill spaces with fragrances, many of which are custom blends. Their soy wax melts provide another avenue to enjoy these captivating scents.

In 2022, Bayside Soapworks expanded its range with handcrafted room sprays inspired by the enchanting resorts of Florida under the name Resort 2 0.

Bayside Soapworks's spirit of innovation is ever-present. They recently updated their talc-free body powders and sugar scrubs while teasing surprises in store for the year ahead.
