"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" was a huge hit in cinemas at the end of 2024. That shouldn't come as much of a surprise since Keanu Reeves was cast as Shadow the Hedgehog in the video game version. It was always going to be a hit.

He has some funny one-liners that fit an anti-hero, but when he's sad, he really makes you feel what he's feeling. However, Shadow stands out in this movie because of the animation and fight scenes, especially when he gets to use his famous motorcycle and gun.

In many ways, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still just a quick trip through the series' graves. The way the movie adds more human cast members from the past without explaining why is, at best, disturbing. It is also unclear what the newcomer Krysten Ritter is doing in this film, and even the people who made it are unsure of what she is doing. The director, Jeff Fowler, who was also responsible for the first two films, has sped them up even further, and the movie moves along at a rapid pace and is not difficult to follow.
