Just like everyone has skeletons in their closet, everyone has storage clutter in their office locker. Companies install office lockers so employees have a personal space at the office. Most companies now have shared work spaces. This rids away any potential privacy space that employees dire. An office locker brings back that private storage space.
If you don't know what an office locker is then listen up. Office lockers are like storage lockers, or gym lockers. The difference is that office lockers are reserved for the office space. They come in different shapes, sizes, and materials. There are single tier standard lockers available in different heights and widths. They come with built in combination locks or they come with the ability to use individual padlocks.
A double tier office locker is the same as a single tier office locker except that each locker unit is shorter and stacked on top of each other. Box style office lockers have many small locker units for each person's personal storage space. Office lockers may be made of steel, wood, or plastic. Some are industrial locker designed as others are furniture grade designed for the office space. Office lockers cater for many different office purposes.
An office locker works as a closet for coat storage. If an office worker needs to put a store a winter jacket somewhere, an office locker is a great place for it. Shoe storage is common for office lockers. Commuters, especially women with high heel shoes, like to wear comfortable shoes while walking through the city. So they may wear a pair of sneakers during the commute and change into dressy shows at work. An office locker works great as food storage. Going out to lunch is becoming less common in our increasingly busy society.
More and more, people are bagging their lunch to work and need a place for food storage. Many office workers like to workout after a hard day of work, so an office locker becomes a gym locker at the office. Lastly, an office locker offers security for the office employees. The threat is not just from fellow co workers, offices have many people coming and going through the office space. It is hard to tell who belongs and who doesn't belong. But just like home storage space, an office locker is subject to clutter and need to be cleaned out. Many times when office workers don't know what to do with memos and faxes, they just stuff them into their office locker. Gym clothes become a real office problem when they are not routinely cleaned.
The office starts to smell like a high school gym locker room. It can lead to an embarrassing situation for the person who left his gym clothes in the office locker over the weekend. An office locker may be used as an office mailbox. Piles of unread junk mail accumulate after weeks of neglect. This is the reason why so many memos and important documents go unread. They blend in and get lost in the clutter.
Before you leave work today, make sure you clean out your office locker and make it a habit to keep it neat. And for peace sake, take those gym clothes home. No one wants to come in work Monday morning with a musty stench in the air.
