We are not going to focus on crash dieting or trying to lose 30 pounds in 30 days. Keeping it consistent and allowing you to lose a couple pounds a week will be the best strategy for long term weight loss.
Losing weight quickly is a bit of a fantasy. Today people want fast results right away, unfortunately this is something that takes time to do, but is worth the effort.
Here are 5 easy diet tips to help you start losing fat.
- Control Your Carbs
Monitor the amount of carbohydrates you take in. If carbs are not used, they are stored as fat. Great carbs that are high in fiber are broccoli, asparagus and spinach.
- Make Breakfast Your Biggest Meal
The largest meal of the day should be your first one. Slow digesting carbs like oatmeal are great and keep you full much longer than simple carbs.
- Do Not Drink Calories
Drinking calories adds up very quickly. Juice, pop and any drink that is sugary must go. Stick to water and green tea. Green tea is great for promoting fats loss as well.
- Small Frequent Meals
Try to eat 4-6 small meals a day. This will keep you in a constant anabolic state so you are burning more calories and storing less fat.
- Do Not Neglect Fat
Healthy fat should be a part of everyone's diet. Remember, it's not fat that makes us fat, it's excess calories. Healthy fats you should try and take in are almonds, peanut butter, flax seed oil and fish oil. Helping you to absorb vital nutrients and minerals, you want to try and have a small portion of healthy fat with every meal.
