Have you heard of the "Silent Lead Generator"? Maybe yes and maybe not. This is the term that I use to define forum marketing. You must be wondering why I define forum marketing as the "Silent Lead Generator" right?

Let me explain the reason.

Let say you participate in MLM or internet marketing forums because you want to find out how to do certain technical stuff which you are not sure of. You notice other people having interesting signatures below their post so you decided to put a signature of your own.

You decide to promote your MLM home based business in your signature so you write a sentence which look like this, "How to Make $4,000 Per Month In 90 Days for Free" and you put a link below it to direct people to your site.

As you continue participating in the forums, suddenly you notice that you are getting traffic to your site. Why is it so?

This is because the more you contribute your ideas and comments in the forums, the more your signature get exposed and those who are interested will certainly click on your link in the signature and visit your site.

You are actually not doing anything to promote your MLM business but you are generating free traffic, free MLM leads and maybe even sign ups. This is what forum marketing is all about.

Let me break it down step by step for you:

1. Find the forums

How do you find top MLM and network marketing forums?

Go to Google's search engine and type "MLM forums" or "network marketing forums". Check out the top few results and you will find some online forums that are most active and has a high flow of traffic.

2. Register with the forums

Most forums will require you to register with them before you can start posting. Registration is usually free so go on and register yourself.

3. Create your signature

Once you have registered, login to your account and create your signature. You can create something like the example above or you can check out other people's forum signatures. See which of the signature gives you that urge to click on the link and create something similar to that. Don't create a signature that looks like a scam.

4. Locate "Hot" threads & participate

In order to get your signature exposed to more people, you need to find a "hot" thread. A "hot" thread means that the thread has a lot of views, a lot of postings and is the current main talking point. Every thread will have its own statistics so you will know whether the thread is "hot".

Now, just participate and contribute to the threads. The more you post, the more your signature get seen, the more free MLM leads you can generate.
