Colloidal silver for the treatment of acne? There are so many known treatments for acne! Why should you consider using colloidal silver for the treatment of acne when this method has yet to be fully backed by medical science?

The answer includes at least three points.

  1. Affordability. Colloidal silver for the treatment of acne can be inexpensive; you can even make your own colloidal silver solution by means of a circuit that will leech out silver from a pure silver wire. Hygiene is a separate and important matter to be met, of course, so home brewing should be practiced with discretion.

  2. Effectiveness. Colloidal silver for the treatment of acne is believed to be very effective. Colloidal silver is well established as a bacteria killer, and colloidal silver as an antibiotic is extremely well received, albeit controversial. While common over the counter (OTC) antibiotic prescriptions can help prevent acne, they can also kill off beneficial bacteria that reside within the human. Colloidal silver is believed to be friendly to beneficial gut dwellers.

  3. Simplicity. Colloidal silver for the treatment of acne does not have to be ingested. It can be topical bactericidal. You probably know how acne develops into full blown lesions. It starts with the flaking of dead skin that plugs pores. The pores, from time to time, release sebaceous fluid to moisten the skin, but when their outlets are plugged, the fluid accumulates. The Propionibacterium Acnes, a bacterium that lives in the sebaceous glands, then thrive on these fatty acids and produce a lesion known as acne. Colloidal silver as topical bactericidal can be an effective bacteria killer, thus eliminating the cause of acne.

Colloidal silver for the treatment of acne is very promising, especially as a topical bactericidal. While the wide array of products for the treatment of acne ranges from topical antibiotics through oral antibiotics, hormonal treatments, external and oral retinoid, to skin exfoliation, those methods can be costly, especially to the most common sufferers - adolescents and young adults.
