Having children is a wonderful experience, fixing up the baby’s room picking out colors and such, decorating the room with baby furnishings, waiting for the day to bring the little one home. Then there is the post-partum weight gain that always seems to accompany childbirth. There are several ways to drop the baby weight now safely and effectively but before you start on any diet program shortly after the delivery of your child, always consult with your doctor to be sure it is the best and right plan for you.
On the average, women gain around 25 pounds during pregnancy and lose only a little over half of that after delivery. Permanent changes took place during this time, eating habits change, not only from the cravings but also trying to maintain healthy eating to provide the nutrition that is an essential part of your baby’s growth, health and development.
When you are looking at a diet plan to drop the baby weight now, be sure to stick to the plan that you find, eat with healthy choices, learn how to cook food with Polyunsaturated/Monounsaturated Fats, stay away from the junk, potato chips, deep fried foods, fast food, candy etc. Drink plenty of water and get your rest. Limit your portions and eat more frequently through the day and eat slowly, enjoy the food that you have prepared.

Now breast feeding alone will not drop that baby weight that you put on, however it will enhance weight loss accompanied with a good plan.
You should also put some sort of exercise into your routine, take the baby for a walk outside on nice days or shopping at the mall with your child. Walking is a very good exercise to begin with. Then you can gradually work yourself up to a good cardio workout and as your baby gets older they can be included also to keep them happy, healthy and active.
It won’t be long before your will drop the baby weight now, you will look better, feel better, and your self-confidence level will be back in no time at all. Find a plan, stick to the plan.
