If you are on the road for quite some time, or if you have experience being on the road, you probably already know that it is important to know as much about towing services as you can. You want to be sure that when it comes right down to it, you are able to access the right type of towing equipment for your needs and for the needs of your car or truck. Therefore, it is important to know as much about towing services as you can, so that you can be aware of the various types of equipment that are out there.

Towing services are services that you can use to make sure that you have the type of help that you need. These are services that are offered by the emergency road operators. They can either be from public service departments, or from private companies, but no matter where they are from, their job is to help you if you need it while you are stuck on the road. Towing services help with break downs, collisions and accidents, parking violations, and other types of situations where your vehicle needs to be towed.

There are five main types of towing equipment that help to have a great way of getting off the road when you need to. First of all, you want to look at the five pieces of equipment.

The boom is not designed for towing trucks alone. But, boom pulleys are used to move cars and trucks that have been stuck in ditches or other places that are hard to get to.

Bed lifts are looped chains that are attached to various types of vehicles. With these chains, the tow truck can pull the vehicle out by the axle. However, these chains can scratch the bumper of the vehicle, and so they are not used as often as they have been used in the past. You want to make sure that you are towing vehicles with steel bumpers if you use this type of equipment to tow.

Wheel lifts are used like hook and chains, in order to move cars. They are the huge metal yoke type things that are attached to the wheels of cars and then used with a hydraulic hoist to get the car up where it can be towed.

The slide is the bed that is put on the back of a tow truck. Then, the bed is moved to ground level, and a winch is used to haul the car or truck onto the bed. The slide can then be moved up again so the vehicle can be towed.

Lastly, the quick pick is used to tow vehicles. This is a combination of a boom and a wheel lift. This is moved when a car has been parked illegally, or to repossess vehicles. It is the most reliable for both heavy duty and light duty towing.
