Every individual intending to study in United States have to obtain a student visa (F-1). And to obtain an f-1 visa, applicants have to schedule an appointment with the US Consulate/Embassy. Currently, all the Indian applicants of US Visa are being administered by the VFS and a prior appointment has to be appeared for the interview.

Common Mistakes that affects in Getting US F-1 Visa

Usually many applicants of US student visa commit certain common mistakes that lead to the rejection of the visa. These mistakes are mostly associated with the students that are from developing countries like, India. The students from developed nations are not usually scrutinized to the same level, as the likelihood that they will stay illegally in the USA is much less. The following are the most common mistakes that lead to the denial of US student visa:

• Poor English Proficiency: The applicants need to be able to do the school work in English. Though you get some additional English skills when you get to the US, few of the potential students may not go to the USA to study English. The higher your TOEFL score, the better your chances of getting the visa. If the score is very low, then you have to work hard and raise the score up. If the score is high at the first time you apply, there will be likelihood of granting the visa.

• Not concerned about Visa: If the consulate officer find an applicant is not serious about the visa, the application for the F1 visa will be rejected. Serious students have good grades and they take lots of classes in their home countries before they try to go the USA. If you are not a serious student then you should be applying for a tourist visa which will allow you to take some classes.

• Financial Resources: It is expected that most students will work when they are in the USA, but you must have enough resources to support yourself and to pay your tuition fees and other living and studying expenditures before you get the visa. The work that you would seek would be the traditional college experience, part time pizza money type job.

• Relatives in USA: Many people assume that it relatives in USA would be helpful and has more possibility of getting visa. But it is the other way around, the consulate denies such applicants. There is a high incidence of people who have relatives in the USA that they will go to work for that relative. Thus, you shouldn’t express about your relatives in USA.

These are some of the major mistakes that applicants commits while attending interview for US student visa. Such kind of problems can be fixed, if you feel that one of these problems affects you. It is efficient to take your counselors advice before you file your application and get well prepared for the interview.
