Understanding the Complications of Vitamin B – 12 Deficiency

The concept of anaemia is based off complications and imbalances in the body that occur because of a lack of vitamins or minerals. The various forms of anaemia and how they cause the body to stop functioning properly is the beginning to understanding possible imbalances in your body. One of the forms of vitamin deficiency that is common among several is known as pernicious anaemia. This is a vitamin B-12 deficiency which can lead to problems and imbalances in the body, while causing an absence of assistance that the body needs for proper functioning.

Vitamin B -12 is one of three main minerals that are needed for the correct flow of your circulatory system and blood. B – 12 is used with iron and folic acid for complete functioning of the circulation of the blood. B – 12 is specifically in charge of producing red blood cells throughout the body to assist in balance and health for the circulatory system. B- 12 is also known to assist the nervous system to support various reactions while balancing the movement of nerves throughout the body. Most B – 12 is found in substances such as meat, fish, eggs and milk.

When there is not enough vitamin B – 12 moving throughout the body, it can lead to severe problems within the body. For instance, fatigue will often occur when the mineral is not producing enough red blood cells. There may also be problems with dizziness, shortness of breath, weight loss, headaches and chest pains. If this continues, then coordination of the body and basic mental functioning may also become a problem and with some severe cases can lead to stomach cancer.

If you have some of the symptoms noted, but aren't sure if you have a B – 12 deficiencies, then you can begin to take steps forward by getting a basic blood test. If the red blood count is not high enough or if the size of your cells is larger than normal, then it means you are suffering from this particular type of anaemia. If you have found that this is a problem, then it is important to find alternatives to assist you in altering this. Changing your diet to include more eggs and meat, adding in supplements for extra vitamins and taking precautionary measures to help your body to stay in balance can assist you to move back to a normal level.

Making sure that your body stays balanced and regular begins with counting the number of minerals and vitamins you are taking in each day. If you are fatigued or experience symptoms that are not allowing you to function at a normal level, then considering complications such as pernicious amenia is the beginning to moving back to normal functioning. Understanding the difficulties with this particular problem and understanding the ways to prevent further problems is the beginning to staying healthy and balanced within your circulatory system.
