Do fat burning supplements work. Can they help with my weight loss? How will a supplement help me burn fat?
Fat burning and energy supplements may be the most over marketed and least understood supplements on the market. With all the marketing an talk about these supplements you may be wondering what is the best fat burning supplement. Better yet you are asking if they can help me lose weight and burn off the stubborn belly fat.
To understand weight loss supplements you have to understand how they work. Fat burning relies on the mitochondria in your cells, so fat burning is happening on the cellular level. The cells mitochondria are sometimes described as "cellular power plants" because they generate most of the cell's supply of adenosine triphosphate, ATP. This ATP is the energy used to make our muscles work. When things are working correctly these little furnaces or cellular power plants also metabolize our bodies fat reserves for energy.
As you may all ready know as you age your metabolism starts to slow. Between the ages of twenty and sixty you will see that your ability to properly process energy is reduced by about fifty percent. Even though you continue to exercise as you get older this is why you may see weight gain.
In the energy production produces free radicals are created, these substances cause cellular and mitochondrial damage. This damage to your cellular power plants further reduces your metabolism causing your body to store the excess energy as fat.

I am sure you are wondering what this has to do with supplements and your stubborn belly fat. You do not care why it is there you just want it to disappear. Well there has been research done that shows a combination of supplemental caffeine and green tea extract may be able to support the mitochondria in their fat burning work. Supplementing with green tea extract will provide your body with some powerful antioxidants to combat and neutralize free radicals protecting your cells. The second half of the equation is caffeine. Caffeine is an adrenal stimulant that has the ability to help you metabolize fat.
It is important to note that caffeine alone does not do all that much to help burn fat. You will see it in many supplement products because it is a stimulant and you can often feel it in your system. It will increases blood pressure, raise your heart rate, and help you feel like you have more energy thinking you are burning more fat. But do not be fooled. Without the combination of the green tea extract and the caffeine, the caffeine alone is not doing all that much. Once the two are together there is a synergistic effect that occurs and the fat burning starts to happen.
Now what you really need to know, dosage.
Approximately three hundred milligrams of EGCG green tea extract with about two hundred milligrams of caffeine together once a day.
Note:
Two hundred mg of caffeine is a lot, that is in the range of three cups of coffee. Because caffeine is a stimulant you will need to make sure you do not take too much. Many other products, like pop or soda contain caffeine you will have to watch what you ingest, for health issues you will not want to exceed five hundred milligrams of caffeine per day.
