Colon cleanse is a process in which the toxins that gets settled in our gastrointestinal passage are removed which helps in giving energy to the body, takes away the unhealthy bacteria from the intestine, and increases the immunity system. This process is an old method that was first started in ancient Greece. This practice of colon cleanse is now becoming popular in the US where either the enzymes or tea or colon irrigation methods are commonly used.
It is believed that colon cleanse helps people to get away from different aliments like allergies, arthritis as well as asthma. This process is also known as colonic irrigation. There is a divided opinion as some favor colon cleanse whereas other say it’s actually not needed as the digestive system of our body naturally eliminates bacteria and waste material from the body and for that there is no requirement for any external process like enemas or pills.
Colon cleanse can be done through two different methods. There are various products available which can help in cleansing the colon or one can take help of the medical practitioner for colon irrigation.
There are liquid or powdered supplements available easily on the Internet or in the supermarkets or health food stores or in the pharmacies over the counter which can be taken from the mouth or some others are taken through the rectum. Both the ways the goal is to cleanse the colon. These products are laxatives, enemas, herbal teas which are very strong, powders and antiparasite capsules.
The alternate process for colon cleanse is colon irrigation which is done by the colon therapists or colonic hygienists. Under this method, an individual is made on lie on a table and then a gravity driven pump of machine flushes around 20 gallons of water within a tube which is inserted into the rectum. This process of colon cleanse requires plenty of water to perform and it does not have the odors or discomfort as experience in other processes. Once the water is pumped into the colon, the therapist will massage the abdomen and the fluids as well as the waste material would be flushed out from the colon with the help of another tube. This process might be repeated depending on the patient’s condition and it normally lasts for an hour.
In this process a therapist may also use herbs, enzymes or probiotics, which is a supplement with healthy bacteria. These products may be combined with water and the water temperature and pressure used in the process may vary. The main purpose of this process of colon cleanse is autointoxication. The undigested food and meat leads to accumulation of mucus in the colon which produces toxins. These toxins may get into our blood and thus poison the body. These toxins may cause symptoms like headache, fatigue, increased body weight and lower energy level. It is believed that colon cleanse would help in enhancing mental outlook, having better immune system, weight loss and reducing the chances of colon cancer.
There could be some negative issues involved with colon cleanse processes. These are getting spasms during colonoscopy, fecal incontinence, ostomy, drug withdrawal symptoms at the time of bowel surgeries. In case an individual decides to go through a colon cleanse then he or she should select a therapist who is a licensed practitioner from a recognized organization and who abides the medical standards set by the organization.
A medical breakthrough that is gaining recognition and acceptance by most medical and healthcare professionals is the colon irrigation as a method of colon cleanse . The healthcare industry has identified and proven the need for the best colon cleanser that would definitely spell a great difference for the human body’s health and wellbeing.
