It is commonly established that acne is the consequence of hormonal irregularities inside the body. Teen acne, acne at some point in pregnancy or menstruation have a clear link to times when the body has these irregularities at work. Concerning acne beyond the teen years, in men or even in women that are not pregnant the hormonal relationship is there but is not so clear.
The factual question to be answered here is how the hormonal irregularities take place outside of these somewhat obvious times.
There are in essence three subjects that may be isolated as being the cause of acne and can point to a successful acne treatment program. None are a single cause in themselves. Each one has a "roll on" effect to the others creating a kind of downhill spiral of acne outbreaks.
- Food Intake
Very frequently food intake is devalued as a trigger of acne. This has happened because of such acne myths as eating carbohydrates causes acne. Or that consuming sweets causes acne. The difficulty with such myths is that they simplify the topic so significantly that the truth is turned into a saying in place of an explanation.
The truth is that selected foods do produce acne but they do not cause acne unaided. Selected foods are not assimilated correctly by the body or instigate unfavorable reactions in the body in the presence of stress or while the person is in a state of hormonal imbalance. Which is why a number of persons can eat all the wrong things and still not get acne. However others eat just the tiniest quantity of something and they breakout inside minutes.
Also in this grouping is the difficulty of artificial food additives and hormones fed to food stock animals. It might not be YOUR hormones that are the trouble; it may possibly be the hormones in the animal protein or dairy products you are eating.
It is not food intake by itself that causes acne. It is food intake in conjunction with the emotional condition of the individual and the hormonal condition of the individual that initiates acne.
- Hormonal Factors
Hormones are documented as the origin of acne yet this too is not completely true.
This is best understood with examples rather than a rambling attempt at description.
Let's say you consume fast food and only fast food each day. That food is packed with oils, carbohydrates and sugars that are assumed to be unhealthy for you and produce acne. Your friend eats the same items yet gets no acne. You develop acne... why?
There exist two possibilities actually. To start with, you have a hormonal imbalance existing that interferes with your body from utilizing the food as it should be resulting in additional acne outbreaks.
Or, the food itself initiates a hormonal imbalance resulting in acne outbreaks. As you can see they are all intertwined and we still have one more to cover!
- Stress or Emotion
A great deal has been written as regards the effects of stress and emotion as being a major source of acne. Again, this is not completely correct.
The end product of stress or undesirable emotional elements will be a disturbance to your body's natural functions. So from that we can conclude that the stress will set off hormonal imbalance and that will end up with acne.
Additionally we can look at that from an additional perspective. If you already have a hormonal disturbance then your body will not be performing perfectly. This results in perceptions of stress or emotional disturbance. That in turn leads in the direction of additional hormonal imbalance and leads to acne.
As a matter of fact these three elements are absolutely and inseparably interrelated. Your acne issue is very specific to you, your everyday life and your body. There actually can be no magic bullet acne treatment since your acne is unique.
The best acne treatment regime is a program that gives credit to the three causes of acne and their interrelationship on each other. It must additionally take into consideration the way in which these three parts are working inside you as an individual.
