If you’re like most people you probably sectioning your life into little bite-size morsels of time to get everything done in a day that needs to be. And of course, there is never enough time to do it all. Some things must be sacrificed. How do you prioritize?
Well, the things that should stay at the top of the "To Do list" should always include health and well-being; this includes working out and keeping a clean house. Here are a few helpful tips on how to combine exercise with daily household chores; saving time, breaking monotony and of course, getting in shape.
Mopping, sweeping and vacuuming:
First of all be careful; especially while vacuuming – this maneuver can often lead to back problems, so make sure to never over-exert yourself.
Try to do all three of these back–to-back, as to be continuously working the shoulders and arms for 30 minutes.
Burn anywhere from 150-250 calories.
Scrubbing Floors on hands and knees
Wax on wax off like Daniel son working those shoulders, biceps, back and even your core. Do the kitchen, bathrooms, foyer and anywhere else that needs a glossy shine.
Burn off over 300 calories.
Cooking and Washing Dishes
All the stirring, chopping, reaching into the fridge and getting out heavy plates will burn more calories than you think. Up it a notch and learn how to do a chef-perfect toss in the sauté pan (please be careful) and watch those biceps grow!
Then burn off dinner by doing the dishes and putting those heavy plates back in the cupboard!
Work almost your entire body, including your multi-tasking brain, but especially your legs, arms and core.
Burn up to 200 calories.
Shoveling snow, Raking leaves, Mowing Lawn
No matter the weather, there is an opportunity to burn calories while grooming your landscape. These three activities will pump your arms, shoulders, core, legs and back. Take it easy, as they all can be quite strenuous at times.
Each one for about 30 minutes will burn an average of 325 calories.
Of course, we are burning calories all day doing our normal activities. My best advice for a busy schedule is to not stress about things like cleaning and working out. It must be done, so try to have some fun and purpose in everything you do. Change your mindset, change your body, change your life.
