Let Check™ launches Letalert™, the lettings industry’s most comprehensive software system enabling instant tenant identity verification and credit checks
New national database comes as latest figures from ARLA show rental defaults reaching record highs
Monday 12 Oct 2009, Lettings reference solutions company Let Check™ today announced the launch of a unique new software system, Letalert™, which uses CID Authentication™ technology to deliver instant identity checks on prospective tenants. The service, available to lettings agents and private landlords from today, allows for comprehensive, legal verification of tenant reference documents, including UK driver’s licences and utility bills, UK credit/debit cards and passports from nearly 200 countries. The industry first development comes as new figures released by the Association of Residential Lettings Agents show a 65% upsurge in the number of tenants struggling to pay their rent in the past six months.
Letalert™ is tailored to generate fast, accurate references for lettings agents, and is specially geared towards locating tenants who have incurred previous rent-related court injunctions. With the tenant’s consent, Letalert’s CID Authentication™ technology enables Let Check™ clients to obtain an instant credit score of a prospective tenant’s financial standing and immediate identity verification.
"With rising financial pressures and national unemployment figures projected to rise to three million by 2010, all the signs point towards an upswing in tenants defaulting on their rent. We’ve developed this solution as a direct response to concerns from private landlords and letting chains who want to know their tenants and better safeguard their investments and well as tenant demands for a more efficient system of gathering references", comments Riz Gohir, Managing Director, Let Check™. "Letalert™ underscores Let Check’s commitment to developing unique solutions for the rapidly changing lettings sector and influencing tenants to understand their responsibilities."
Letalert’s linking capabilities enable agents to integrate the service across their business nationally, or internationally, allowing for seamless integration of the product with the company’s existing framework of professional standards. The service can be incorporated into lettings agent’s corporate packages or accessed directly via the Let Check™ web site www.letcheck.co.uk.
