There are many tips for losing weight that you can implement day to day with minimal effort. This article is not a diet and does not include tips that are hard to achieve or take a certain period of time.
This article lists simple, everyday, non harsh tips for losing weight. If you follow some or all of these tips YOU WILL lose weight and burn more calories.
Losing weight comes down to one true fact. You need to burn more calories than you are taking in over a period of time.
For example if your body needs 2500 calories a day to "maintain" and you only take in 2400 calories, then you have a net weight loss for that day but don’t think of losing weight as a day to day battle. Look at it in week and month time periods.
A pound of fat equals 3500 calories. So if you reduce your caloric intake by 3500 calories a week below your maintenance needs you will be losing weight at the rate of 1 pound per week.
That does not mean you need to reduce your caloric intake exactly 500 calories a day over the course of seven days. It means that by the end of each week you take in less than your body maintenance needs.
So now on to some of the best Tips for Losing Weight for anyone:
Tips for Losing Weight #1: This one everyone knows but putting exercise even 2-3 days a week into your life dramatically increases weight loss. The day you exercise your body may burn an additional 500 calories. Don't go by what the stepper or treadmill says you burned because your metabolism and heart rate is elevated for hours after your done.
Let's do an example. If you take in 2400 calories that day and your maintenance intake is 2500 calories you have a net loss of 100 calories. If you exercise that day and burn an additional 500 calories you are down to 1900 calories. That is 600 calories down for the day! Well on your way to losing a pound of fat. 3500 calories - 600 calories = Only 2900 calories to go to lose a pound!
Keep in mind you don’t have to go to the gym and run on the treadmill for an hour. You can do anything. Even exercising for 5 minutes (doing 25 pushups and sit ups) 3 times a week can help you burn pounds of fat off over the course of months that you normally wouldn’t be!
The key is to elevate your heart rate 55% or more for more than 20 minutes.
Tips for Losing Weight #2: Always take to stairs instead of the escalator or elevator. Your body burns about 30 calories over the course of the next 5 minutes after taking the stairs by raising your heart rate as apposed to the escalator or elevator.
So think about it. If you opt for the stairs 120 times over the course of a year you will have burned 3600 calories. That is over a pound of fat just for keeping this tip for losing weight handy in your daily living.
Tips for Losing Weight #3: Drink some water right before or shortly before your about to eat. This will limit the capacity of your stomach and make you feel fuller faster. Doing this before lunch or dinner a couple of days of week can save you hundreds a calories in just one sitting. You won’t even want to go for seconds or finish that big portion effectively saving you thousands a calories a month.
Tips for Losing Weight #4: This is one of the most important Tips. EAT Breakfast. Try to eat something like a bowl of low sugar cereal or a yogurt and some fruit within 2 hours of waking up. Studies have shown over and over that this induces weight loss and speeds up your metabolism. A speedier metabolism means losing more weight. Studies show that eating breakfast speeds up your metabolism 5% for the entire day!
Tips for Losing Weight #5: Eat a good amount of dairy. Many clinical studies have shown that calcium helps remove fat from the body. So if your losing weight you want dairy on your side.
Tips for Losing Weight #6: Simple things like cutting the fat off of your meat or buying leaner meat from the food store can also save you thousands of fat calories over the course of a year.
Tips for Losing Weight #7: Flex your stomach when you’re walking or going up stairs. Doing this for just a couple minutes a day will help you lose pounds of fat over the course of a year.
Are you starting to get the point? There could be a thousand iterations of the tips mentioned above.
It’s quite simply just trying to burn more calories than you take in. Your body burns calories every second.
Don’t torture yourself trying to count calories everyday. You will feel and know by the end of the week without counting whether you took in more than you burned.
If you have a high caloric intake day or weekend because of a party or vacation or for whatever reason don’t worry about it and don’t try to make it up the next day. You don’t gain weight over night! You gain and lose it over time.
Looking at week and month time periods is good policy. The best tip for losing weight is to burn more than you take in using any number of routines, tips, and habits.
