Do you know that your life savior can be your life taker? Each and every thing has both positive and negative side. A substance which can help you when used in the right amount can cause devastation when used in excess. Well, I am talking about the painkillers. When this medicine is used as prescribed by a person’s doctor, it works as a pain reliever; but when it is used in more amount than the proper dosage, it causes much harm to a person. Billions of people all over the world depend on this prescription drug for getting relief from their ailment. However, its side effect is ravaging.
With the ban on opiates like cocaine, heroin etc, addicts nowadays has started taking painkillers as their addiction drug. Painkillers contain very little amount of opiate, which acts as pain reliever. Taking 5-6 painkillers at a time can easily give a heightened feeling. Since painkillers are used mainly as medicine, it cannot be banned. And it is also easily available at any medical store and at cheap rate.
Sometimes it is also seen that people get addicted to painkillers accidentally. This happens when a person takes overdose of painkiller, which is more than the original amount prescribed by the person’s doctor. It is always advised to stay away from painkillers even if it is prescribed by a doctor, rather a person can use other medicines to replace painkillers. However, some types of wounds cannot be treated by ordinary medicines, in such cases painkiller is a must. A person prescribed with painkillers must be very careful; the dosage of painkillers must never be increased or decreased without consulting a doctor. A slight mistake or negligence can lead the person to painkiller addiction.
It is very hard for a person to quit painkiller addiction if they have taken it for long time. People get physically and mentally dependant on painkillers due to its prolonged usage. They feel acute pain when they do not get their daily dose. Gradually the addiction takes control over the person’s entire mind and body. People start taking painkillers without any other person’s notice; they isolate themselves from the rest.
The only cure to painkiller addiction can be found in an opiate rehab. However, it is difficult for any ordinary rehab to cure a person, as they cannot provide all the required treatments. If a person wants to get fully healed and get rid of painkiller addiction totally, then he or she should contact any well renowned rehab like the Drug Rehab Sunset Malibu. This type of world class rehabs can provide each and every necessary facility required for drug addiction treatment.
Treatment in a rehab is the only way to get rid of opiate addiction. It cannot be done at home as a person cannot get the proper treatment their. Moreover, the expert medical staffs of an opiate rehab understand the psychology of the patients very well, and can fulfill their medical needs.
So, it is best for a person to contact a rehab, if he finds himself too much dependent on painkiller. If steps are not taken at the right time, then this painkiller addiction can ruin his or her life.
