Since the German physician Samuel Hahnemann has introduced it in 1796, homeopathy has traveled the world, silently curing millions of people from common ailments and serious conditions. Many people approach homeopathy as a last resort, while many others consult homeopathy practitioners while they are stuck down by a flu, a headache, high blood pressure, digestive problems, and almost everything. Most people follow this system do so because of the gentle nature of the treatment procedure, which hardly ever comes with any side effects.
The Scope of Homeopathy
In fact, no disease or condition is beyond the scope of homeopathy. Homeopathy has treated such dreaded conditions like cancers. In fact, several conditions that require surgery in conventional method can be better treated with homeopathy. Haemorrhoids, renal calculi, etc are some of such conditions.
However, in case of serious, incurable conditions, homeopathy is used as palliative care, which allows suppression of the symptoms, mainly pain. There is no physical condition, which is beyond the scope of homeopathy.
Extensive Diagnosis V History
Homeopaths record a lot of patient history. They also study the physical and psychological state of the patient before suggesting a remedy. A practitioner can suggest different treatments to different persons suffering from the same conditions. This is because, the exact physical and mental conditions are different.
Duration of Treatment: How Long Does it Take to Cure
In many cases, homeopathy can cure in minutes – like in common cold, flu, etc. This is however not possible in all cases. It is because, the patients turn to homeopathy after trying one or more treatments – conventional medicine, other forms of alternative therapy, etc. The practitioner needs to nullify the effects of such treatments from the body before he/she can start homeopathic treatment.
For some people, it can take weeks, months, or even years before they can see any benefits. It is more about the seriousness of the condition, and the state of the patient than about the effectiveness of the treatment.
Diet Restrictions in Homeopathy
There aren't many diet restrictions. However, practitioners do recommend not to take certain items like garlic, coffee, etc immediately before or after taking homeopathic medicine. This is because the action of the medicines depends on several factors. Even minute changes can alter their efficacy. There aren't any prohibitive diet restrictions.
Do You Have to Trust Homeopathy to Be Effective?
Not necessarily. However, you need to follow the directions by the practitioner. You can better trust your own experiences than what you read here, in medical journals, or in thousands of homeopathy related and other websites.
