Knowing the healthy weight range for you is necessary if you want to keep your body in good physical shape and condition. No one wants to be obese and it is never healthy to be overweight, or being underweight. Both of which can be avoided by knowing the weight range that suits you best. This differs depending on a person’s height and usually scopes between twenty to thirty pounds of a normal person’s weight. To find the weight range that is healthy for you, you may try using a body mass index calculator or a weight range chart and there are many internet sites nowadays that provide them for your easy usage.

The first thing you need to know to find your ideal weight is your height. Once you know this, you have to weigh yourself. Then you could go online and search for websites that provide healthy weight range calculators. You usually just enter your current height and click on the submit button, and you instantly get the ideal weight range for you. If your current weight falls below your ideal weight range, then you must add on a few pounds. If it’s above the suggested range, then you have to make a promise to yourself to lose weight. Remember though that fad diets, slimming medications and the like almost always backfire in the long run so instead of going for such things, resolve to exercise or do something physical that is enjoyable to you. Also, don’t set unrealistic goals for yourself so you don’t get disappointed when you don’t reach them. Aiming to lose about a pound or two in a week’s time is very attainable and quite easy with the right motivation, dedication and eating habits.

Lastly, know that your age, your body type and the amount of physical activities you engage in also play a vital part in knowing your ideal weight. You may already fall into your suggested range, but you may still want to lose or gain a few pounds depending on these three factors. Though most people aim for a weight in the middle of the range, you may want to opt to be heavier if your activities require a lot of energy and physical strength. People with a lot of muscle also tend to be heavier so you need to know if you are weightier because of your body fats or if it’s because of the former. On the other hand, you may want to choose to be on the lighter side of your range if you don’t engage in physically strenuous activities quite often.

Knowing the right weight for you not only keeps your body healthy and in shape, but it can also boost up your confidence if you know that you fall within your healthy weight range. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but it does help a lot if you are confident about yourself. Knowing you are healthy and not over or underweight aids in doing so as well.
