Many of us find diets exciting as it could be a chance to lose weight, those extra pounds quickly. We get drawn to diets that claim to be able to help us lose at least 6 pounds in just a week.

Do these diets work? In only a week can be actually lose this weight? Would it be healthy to lose weight this fast if we did?

To answer your queries, not all diets are truthful. There are numerous diets that will claim to help you lose weight but not all of them may not do that.

Some of them are healthy and some of them are not. As a result, decisions must be carefully weighed before you decide on a diet to follow. However diets that work along the lines of the calorie shifting principle are very genuine and effective. In the same manner they help you shed those extra pounds in a safe way.

The most famous of calorie shifting diets is the "fat loss 4 idiots diet". This diet provides information on why other diets are unhealthy and provides a method of losing weight that is based on science and not hype.

Many common diets work at reducing your food intake for an extended period of time. You can begin losing weight by doing this. More often than not, you will begin to put on more weight, even while still following the diet. The weight you have lost often does not stay off for a long enough period. This is because our bodies have been designed in such a way that if you give it a considerable amount of time, its metabolism adjusts to whatever your intake is be it less of carbohydrates, fats or proteins or just less intake of the quantity of food.

The fat burnt is proportional to the rate of metabolism. If your metabolism is fast, you will burn calories fast. If metabolism is slow, naturally the rate of burning calories will be slow too. Lesser the food intake, slower the metabolism. Most of these diets are all about taking in fewer calories and hence lesser calories are burnt up as well. And if you go off your diet even a little bit, you will end up putting on more weight instead of losing weight since your metabolism will be slow and less fat will be burned.

Diets that use calorie shifting do not work like other diets. They have a scientific background. They realize that the variaton of eating routine is required in order to keep our metabolism high at all times. A higher metabolism means more calories will be burned causing us to lose weight. The diet promotes the rotation of food. It allows you to eat one type for a week and then to change it to a different type the next week. So basically you eat a new type of food every week. Your diet this week will not be the same as last week. This makes your metabolism stay at a high rate which will burn more and more calories helping you to lose weight safely.
