If you ask an individual who has frizzy or curly hair, what humidity is they are going to tell you it is a curse. At least when it comes to their hair. These hair types are constantly trying to outsmart the humidity when it comes to the way it affects their hair. Actually, humidity refers to the amount of water vapour that is found in the air. The more humidity that is present the worse the hair problems.

As we mentioned individuals that have frizzy hair or curly hair are well aware of the hair effects the humidity creates. Individuals in other hair type categories are not as familiar with the humidity effects. It does in fact affect all hair types but just in varying degrees.

The water in the air seems to create automatic volume to the hair by making it swell or puff up. The reason being is because our natural hair is partially composed of water. Now one would think this is a good thing right? but actually this is what creates the frizzy hair.

Sometimes you may look at your hair in the mirror and it seems longer than it did yesterday for example. True hair grows everyday but not to the extent that it’s noticeable on a daily basis. Probably what you are noticing that on a humid day the hair has the illusion of being longer because the weight of the water in the hair tends to pull it down.

As we said humidity will affect hair in different ways, and much of this is dependant on the hair type and hair care an individual has. You may be a person whose hair goes very drab and flat at these times. Then consider using products for fine hair, as these are the typical signs that humidity has on fine hair.

It’s always wise to use superior quality hair care products .Perhaps when facing conditions of high humidity it is even more important. Unfortunately, the effects the humidity has on your hair are not always temporary. For example if you are experiencing a high humidity day and you happen to be out in the sun unprotected then the sun is going to be far more successful at drying out your hair. Now you have a new problem to deal with.

The ideal solution to weather related hair problems is to educate yourself on first what hair type you have and how will be most likely to react in the various weather conditions. By knowing this you can prepare in advance and ward off any of the adverse hair affects that come with the changing climates.
