General Eligibility Criteria

Anyone who is above 16 years of age or older and withdrawn from high school can apply for admission. Applicants for the Adult ESOL class and job preparatory courses need to complete a basic skills test. The students need to submit a set of documents to prove their residency and to avail the residents' fee benefits. Some of the documents include US Passport Valid Visa/Passport, Green Card (Alien Card), Florida Driver License, Social Security Card, Certificate of US Citizenship and Florida Voter's Registration Card among others.

For adult education the applicants must appear for the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and should meet the requisite basic academic skills levels in mathematics, language and reading to qualify for the applied technology diploma. Applicants planning to enroll in Adult ESOL classes need to appear for the CASA testing before being placed in a class.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships for many useful and job oriented courses like electrical and plumbing, air-conditioning, industrial pipefitting, heavy equipment operation and others are hugely popular among the students as these offer hands on experience and specialization in the subjects of their choice, enabling them to land on plum assignments. The Air-conditioning apprenticeship is of 5 years duration during which the students will be provided with advanced training in air conditioning technology.

Candidates should be of 18 years of age and be employed by an ACCA/CF member employer to enroll for these apprenticeship programs of Mid Florida Tech . The basic skills for this program include Mathematics 10.0, Language 9.0, and Reading 9.0. On successful completion the students can get wages $40,000 - $80,000 annually based on full employment.
