Overcoming constipation naturally

Constipation is not a disease; it is the symptom of certain hidden diseases in the health system. In general, constipation is defined as having bowel movement fewer than three times per week. It is caused due to improper digestion or because of some other hidden diseases in our body.
Minor constipation issues can be successfully resolved through natural remedies. However, if someone faces a problem of severe constipation [incomplete or no movement of bowel for more than 5-7 days] it is recommended to see a doctor for clinical investigation of this serious anomaly.
Natural remedies of constipation are not meant to treat the root cause of the problem. These remedies merely work as a first aid support system. However, all these remedies are safe and do not pose any harmful side effects on the health system; like that which are caused by over –the-counter- strong laxatives.
Drinking plenty of water helps in softening stool and facilitates natural bowel movement. Instead of plain water the patient suffering from constipation may consider taking diluted fruit juice and lemon extract treated water, for variation and for better nutrition.
Blackstrap molasses are a great natural medicine for constipation. The patient with constipation may consider having blackstrap molasses in dinner with milk or with bread on a regular basis. This simple natural remedy will show its positive result within 2-3 days.
Regular consumption of half-cup cabbage juice works well in relieving the discomfort of constipation. However, those who are patients of arthritis or hypothyroid should not use this raw cabbage juice remedy.
Light exercise on regular basis & at a fixed time helps in relieving the problem and discomfort of constipation. However, brisk walking & regular exercise also provides good relief from constipation. Senior members who are suffering from chronic constipation problem due to aging may feel better by applying the walk- remedy.
An herbal decoction made of milk and 4-5 grapes boiled together is a good natural medicine for constipation relief. For optimum benefit, this remedy should be practiced at night on a regular basis.
Alternatively milk-soaked dates also work well in providing relief from constipation.
Water kept overnight in a copper vessel/glass and consumed in the morning with an empty stomach is helpful in curing constipation of chronic patients. This simple natural remedy helps to reduce the intensity of constipation problem.
Fresh fruits are excellent source for natural fiber. Consumption of any one fresh fruit cures the discomfort of constipation. Guava is such a fruit which initiates normal bowel movement so it is beneficial to consume guava to cure constipation naturally.
