Treating Depression Naturally

Depression is a kind of negative impulse of a body which kills the natural impetus to live further. It is called a silent killer in modern terms. Work pressures and over expectations prods us to move at a faster speed than what is normal; non-fulfillment of such impractical expectations tends to generate depression in us. It is certainly an illness but the root of this disorder hides in our mind, not in our body.
Depression can be fatal. It is wise to consult a doctor if some one remains depressed for more for than one week. In case of sever depression the patient may commit suicide.
There are several natural remedies for treating depression; but they can be dangerous if done without consulting a qualified psychologist. It is risky if you start treating a patient suffering from depression on your own.
A patient suffering from depression may consider taking herbal mixture made of ⅛ teaspoonful nutmeg powder and one teaspoon fresh gooseberry fruit extract. It can be useful in curing his/her depression in a natural manner.
Herbal teas are wonder remedies that elevate patient’s mood. Consumption of licorice tea is a reliable natural medicine for treatment of depression. However, patient should not consider taking more than three cups of licorice tea per day; further complications can develop due to licorice side effects.
Alternatively, a patient suffering from depression may consider the option of drinking basil tea, or rose-petal tea, or sage-herbal tea or green- cardamom herbal tea; herbal teas too can combat depression and cure patients suffering from this disease.
An apple with milk and honey is a tasteful natural remedy for the treatment of depression. Those who suffer from frequent mood swings and are often irritated should try this apple- remedy for prompt recovery from depression.
Alternatively, a relaxing bath may help the patient to overcome the agonizing spell of depression.
Asparagus roots in powder form are a great natural medicine for the treatment of depression. For best effect asparagus powder should be consumed regularly by the patient.
Relaxation technique, deep breathing exercises, and meditation are good and efficient natural remedies for depression management. While meditation improves mental stability deep breathing exercises induces better balance of the nervous system.
