Media and Marketing: All Things are Possible

Bobbye Brooks

"What am I going to do?! My business is dying and I feel completely helpless to do anything to change it." These types of comments are not uncommon. Today, there is a growing epidemic of fear and panic that is sweeping across the world concerning the status of our economy. It is no longer just the United States, it is the world. We are all in a state of flux and change.

What are we going to do? How will we survive? Will we ever go back to "the good ole days"? Yes, we will survive. No, we are not going back. We must go forward. We must believe that there are better days ahead and that we will thrive in them. But, how? Where do we begin?

Let's begin by looking at the opportunities that are in front of us, right now. We are staring at a world of exponential potential called the Internet. Social Media is here to stay. We MUST make it work for our benefit and to our advantage. It is all about media and marketing.

Since the launching of Media 4 Women Enterprises (http://media4women.com) in January 2010, our phones have not stopped ringing. We are inundated with people coming in to discuss how Media 4 Women can help them. What are we helping them to do? Just about everything you can imagine.

We are helping them with websites that never get hits or traffic of any kind. No business leads. No marketing plan. Books that people had printed but cannot sell them. We are helping with Social Media networks that overwhelm people who are trying to keep up. We are training them in Video production that is more than just using a webcam. We are trying to teach and train people in all of these types of media tools that so few really know how to use effectively.

People are starting to get nervous. The online world is extremely competitive and getting more saturated every day. To survive, a person or business must have a PLAN of attack, a strategic, intelligent and ingenious marketing plan. If you want to get noticed, be found, have new visitors, grow your client base, get a return on your investment...then you must start with a plan.

What is involved with a Marketing Plan? A marketing plan is designed to penetrate your marketplace and do it effectively. It may take some time to see productive results but every step must be strategic and monitored. Media 4 Women is helping people develop economical, efficient and effective marketing plans. Plans that strategically work to drive traffic to their website; plans that strategically present and promote their products or services; and plans that tests, measure and refine the results. Without a Plan, success is difficult at best. How will you get to your destination without a plan to plot the course and make corrections? How do you achieve your goals without a plan?

In the "old days", we could just advertise in a newspaper and that was marketing. Or, run a radio commercial or even a television commercial, those were big budget marketing plans. But today, to be successful and see results, you must use a variety to media tools including a well tagged website, an active blog, current articles and videos, social media networks, strong branding, commercials and yes, print ads as well. They all work together. Media and marketing go hand in hand. Yet, too many people are feeling overwhelmed and behind.

We offered a free webcast last week on Marketing Strategies and had over 150 people sign up. There is a sense of urgency in people knowing that they must get with it...get going...make something happen. Yes, there should be a sense of urgency, as each day brings about more new changes and more competition for online space. You must have a plan and you must have a very good company behind you providing support. Do you have a plan? Are you working with a supportive company that cares about you?

I want you to consider 5 basic questions: 1) What are your goals? 2) What is your timeframe: short term and long term? 3) What are your expectations? 4) How much can you invest in time, money and resources? and 5)Are you supported by family and friends? If you can answer these basic questions, then you are ready to get going with a plan. Media 4 Women Enterprises is here to help you.
