Ever tried calling a loan agency to help you with a modification?

If you have ever tried to reach your loan agencies mitigation department you know how frustrating and time consuming the entire process can be. You sit on hold for what seems like an eternity and when/if you do get through to someone they have a tendency to be rude and treat you like a common crook. 

Rude operators

The biggest problem with these agencies is they are severely understaffed and desperately need to hire employees to deal with the record number of borrowers that are currently in distress. Not only do these companies need more staff but the staff they currently have needs to be better trained. This understaffing and poor training has resulted in the current 'stonewall' situation you receive when attempting to contact your loan agencies mitigation department.

Possible good news

Well good news may be on the horizon. The news announced that a new practice being conducted by loan agencies is to hire psychologists to assist, train and select appropriate staff for loss mitigation departments. The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article about mortgage servicing firms starting to take a better approach to servicing their client's needs.

The article stated that "they scramble to hire enough employees to deal with the onslaught, some firms are using psychologists to help them attract the right people to help talk borrowers through potential changes, and hiring from competitors."

It went on to state "They also are paying more attention to psychologically pitch-perfect telephone scripts to use when speaking with customers in an attempt to find a way to change, or modify, terms of a loan to ensure payment and avoid foreclosure"

Hopefully as a result of this new hiring and training program the days of being on hold forever and the rude method of handling calls will be long gone. However like any program, chances are it will take time for these practices to be established and incorporated into their current routine. As a homeowner who is facing foreclosure you do not have the commodity of time to wait for these loan agencies to get there acts together. You need help now.

Mortgage negotiators

Obviously the phone calls to the loan agencies are not the answer. If you seek help with mortgage modifications you should seek out a reputable negotiation agency to represent you. This will save you the hassle and time of being on the phone with your loan agency. Most established negotiation agencies will have a 'backdoor' to get through to the banks.

So let a trustworthy and reputable negotiation agency save you the headache of being forever on hold. Hire someone to do it for you.
