Removal Companies – the Benefits of Choosing a Larger Removal Company

Removal companies are the businesses we turn to when faced with moving house. Hiring a man with a van was what most people did when they had a removal to organise, however today, all that has changed. While the man with a van is still around, greater numbers of people are opting to hire large and well established removal companies for their relocation. There are a number of reasons why one would choose to go with a larger removal company. We will take a look at a few of those reasons here.
More options
One of the biggest differences between a man with a van and removal companies is that the larger companies will offer you greater options when it comes to accessorial services. Whereas a man with a van will basically show up and load your belongings onto his truck and unload them for you at your next home, large removal companies will offer a variety of services including comprehensive door-to-door options, which mean that they will arrive at your home, pack everything up, load it onto their truck, drive to your new home, unload everything, unpack everything and set everything back up the way in which you want it. They will even attempt to hook up your audio-visual equipment and if they are unable to do so, then they will refer you to a provider that can do it for you inexpensively. Large removal companies will also provide you with the necessary packing materials if you choose such an option, but do not want the full service.
Recourse
A man with a van will necessarily have to provide clients with damage insurance, but the coverage that a small operation can offer will definitely be less comprehensive than what a large removal company can offer. Moving house is always a tricky business with plenty of opportunity for loss or damage of goods. However, with the right insurance in place you will be able to claim for any damages or loss that you might sustain in a move. Knowing the kind of insurance coverage that each company you look at provides is a good gauge of a company’s size.
Flexibility
A man with a van might only have one or two moving teams available for moves at any given time. So, if your move should fall on a date that has already been booked, then you will either have to change your moving date, which is generally very hard to do, or you will have to choose another removals company. Large removal companies generally have a fleet of trucks and crews of skilled and trained personnel available for moves. Therefore, they will be more likely to be able to accommodate your move date – even if you should call them up at the last minute to book your move.
Cost
Here the man with a van will likely win out over larger removal companies. The reason that established removal companies are able to expand in such fashion and provide clients with skilled labour is that they charge for those services. A man with a van is more likely to cut you a break on the price yet still provide good service.
In the end the removal company that you choose will reflect your budget, your needs and what you expect from your provider
