There are several different changes that your body goes through as it ages and for the most part you notice these changes even when others cannot. No one knows your body like you do. But there are some changes that happen to the body that are silent and you don't even realize that it is happening until it develops into a condition or disease. One such condition is high blood pressure. Treatment of hypertension all begins with doing lifestyle modifications. When you have seen in your blood pressure chart that your blood pressure reading is increasing, you should perform several lifestyle changes that way you can save yourself from having hypertension.
A good number of old hypertensive patients with untreated hypertension will also experience a decline in the cognitive functions stipulated above due to the key fact that hypertension tends to pose more resistance among old people. There are many forms of meditation but you can start out with a simple guided meditation that will make a profound difference in your symptoms. I highly recommend meditations by Doreen Virtue or James Van Praagh.
Of course, that's easier said than done. If you have too much stress, trying to reduce it may add even more stress to your life, especially if your life depends on it. But reduce your stress you must. Because if you don't, you may not be around too much longer. And then where would everyone be who is now relying on you? According to recent studies, antidepressant drugs offer little benefits to the patients of milder depression and if taken for longer periods, in case of severe depression, they cause some negative effects too. Psychotherapy has its role in curing depression but it also takes quite a time to achieve positive results. Shortness of breath upon exertion is the most common symptom of pulmonary hypertension and virtually everyone who has the condition develops it. Symptoms may include mild fatigue, dizzy spells, fainting, rapid heartbeat, ankle or leg swelling, bloating, tremors, stooped posture, slowness of movement as well as muscle rigidity.
If you are a woman taking or considering taking birth control, consider talking to your doctor about the hypertension risks associated with Drospirenone-containing pills. The pressure readings are measured in millimeters of mercury or mmHg. For example, 110 over 70 or 110/70 means that 110 is the systolic reading and 70 is the diastolic reading. The blood pressure is high if the systolic reading is 140 or above and the diastolic pressure reading is at 90 and above. The damaged blood vessels will impair the blood flow. They can also rupture causing a bleeding or be clogged by a blood clot that shuts out the blood flow and causes tissue damage. These things can occur in the brain, causing a stroke, in the heart causing heart infarction or in the kidneys with renal failure as a consequence.
Sexual dysfunction is such a sensitive issue that must be handled with care; so you must consult a real professional lest you destroy your sex life completely or even worsen the hypertension by the kind of therapy you adopt. Cauliflower, brinjal, lady's finger and mustard leaves are harmful for the heart. Mustard leaves have less fiber content and more protein, so the heart has to work more by supplying more blood to digest these leaves, putting pressure on the heart.
