Yes let’s talk about the power of ice, and no I’m not talking about the " Crystal Meth " stuff that people need to step off the planet and get away from the reality and the living of life, yes that terrible and wonderful opportunity that all of us have been given. Well life can be wonderful or simply terrible you decide. Just like your own mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

Yes ice, I am talking about the frozen water kind that we put on our aches and pains, the substance that gives us the ability to ease our pain from the swelling and discomfort of pulled muscles and tendons and pulled nerves from abuse that we often inflict on ourselves from the everyday activity of this wonderful experience we call life.

Did you know that your body reproduces red blood cells every 90 to 120 days. In a sense your body does it’s own oil change without you even knowing it. That is how God has made your body in the sense that it replenishes itself.

Now since the red blood cells in your body die and new ones are born again through the bone marrow with the rejuvenation of these red blood cells comes new oxygen to the blood as well. When you breathe in air your lungs keep in the oxygen and discards the carbon dioxide. Through the pulmonary vein oxygen-rich blood is sent throughout the body via the circulatory system.

Red blood cells (also referred to as erythrocytes) are the most common type of blood cell which your body is comprised of about 25% and the vertebrate organism’s principal means of delivering oxygen (O2) to the body tissues via the blood flow through the circulatory system. They take up oxygen in the lungs or gills and release it while squeezing through the body’s capillaries.

Now having said this what do you think happens when you put ice on a wound. You are also bringing fresh blood with fresh oxygen to the wound as well, amazing isn’t it that a simple thing like ice, frozen water can actually help heal a wound but it does. Have you ever noticed how your skin turns red after you put ice on a wound, what do you think that redness is, oxygen rich blood that you have just sent to that wound. Yes I’m talking about the power of Ice so why not start using it a little more often and watch how quickly your wounds start to heal themselves.

The best healer of all is nature at it’s finest.
