Without a doubt, network marketing is simple. Sadly, there are too many people who somehow have come to the conclusion that because network marketing is simple, that it is also easy. It is important that you return to the reality of building a successful network marketing BUSINESS.

The fundamentals principles of network marketing are really quite simple. The development of a network through the building of personal relationships and the subsequent creation of a business relationship with those who are a part of that network is the basic description of network marketing. This seems simple enough doesn't it? In reality it truly is that simple, but you must remember that simple does not always equal easy.

It takes time and effort to build lasting relationships. You can never build a relationship with another person, if you do not take the steps to reach out to them. In a business that is built on relationships (which a network marketing business is), you need to be continuously reaching out to build connections with other people. Failure to connect with others on a daily basis, will render you incapable of building a successful network marketing business. The cost of connecting with people on a daily basis, will require you to give up your time. In addition, you may have to give up your fear (especially of the telephone). It takes continual effort on your part to effectively build relationships.

The marketing aspect of the business comes from the regular presentation of your product or service to those with whom you have developed a relationship. This will again require a continuous, ongoing effort on your part. The single most difficult obstacle facing most network marketers is fear. High on this list of fears is the fear of rejection. You must enter into your network marketing business with the understanding that you are going to have many who tell you "no." In fact, you may get 100 "no" answers before you get the first "yes." All too often, network marketers don't take this fact into consideration. They instead lose their enthusiasm when those first "no" answers come. The end result is that they being talking less and less to others about their business. The relatively low cost of entering a network marketing business, makes it easy for many to simply walk away at this point instead of pushing ahead (would they walk away so quickly if they had invested $1 million in a McDonalds franchise).

While we are drawn to the stories of the man or woman who became a 6 figure income earner in their first 90 days, the reality is that most successful network marketing businesses were built over a period of years. These successful businesses were established through a combination of sheer determination, hard work and commitment.

Using the right tools it is possible to work efficiently, while avoiding costly mistakes. Truly, our business is simple, but it does require a commitment for the long haul on your part.
