It is said that the best way to make money is to find out where people are spending it and then get in front of them. One sure way to do this is through niche marketing. What is niche marketing? It is marketing a product or service

that a group of people have an interest in, such as weight loss, dog grooming, home theater systems, etc. The topics are endless. So are the affiliate programs that go along with those topics.

How do you find out what niches or products people are spending money on? There are many ways online to research this. Sites such as eBay and Amazon have sections that show hot items and top sellers. Clickbank also has a marketplace where you can compare different products and how well they

are selling. These sites also have affiliate programs so you can earn a commission on the products they offer.

Another very important part of discovering a profitable niche is to find out what people are typing into the Search Engines. Those Search Phrases or Keywords are important to finding demand and competition for a particular set of keywords. For example, if you found that tanning beds are selling well within the health and beauty niche, you can do a keyword search using one of the many free online keyword tools. If you type the term "tanning bed" into a keyword tool, you will find over 100,000 searches each month for that term. This shows a good demand for the product, but the competition is also high with around a million sites. The good thing about keyword research is that you will also see longer term keywords displayed as well, such as Wolff

Tanning Bed, Sunquest Tanning Bed, and many more. These are product names that many people are still typing into the search engines but the competition is much less. If you use these longer tail keywords to title your articles and

website content with and direct visitors to your affiliate link for these products, then you are on your way to becoming a successful niche marketer.

There are other aspects to niche marketing, such as choosing a domain name, web hosting, site building, writing original content, search engine optimization, linking strategies and more. Writing and submitting articles based on your long tail keywords is a good start as it allows you to take advantage of high ranking article sites to get your message seen. The other aspects mentioned above will help you establish a longer term presence in your chosen niche.
