"3 Top Tips For Avoiding Dieting Disasters"

These are my top three tips for dealing with dieting programs. These tips will save you hours of time, energy, frustration and confusion and help you choose a suitable weight loss product which suites your specific needs... should you choose to do so.

Tip#1 - Dont Go Without Your Favourite Food...

OK, although it may be your favourite food that has got you into trouble in the first place, I strongly advise you set aside one day in each week where your can have one meal of your favourite food. And yes I said ONE, Im not saying shovel as much of this food down in one day as you can either, but have one day where you can have one favourite meal of your choice.

Think about this. What happens when we are told we cant do things? It makes us want to rebel and do it even more right? Well, when following a diet, there really is no exception. The same psychology applies. Dont be too harsh on yourself, it doesn't work.

Tip#2 - Dont Try To Follow a Diet Plan With A Rigorous Exercise Regime

I know that might sound strange. After all we all know exercise=burnt calories. But any diet plan that is going to work 'long term', will need to be based on long term solutions. And... when it comes to exercise, it is important to get this aspect right just as much as the diet itself.

When you spend hours exercises each day it not only can be hard to keep up from a physical point of view, but it can eat huge chunks of time out of your daily life. Remember, you are going on a diet to make a positive difference in your life NOT to punish yourself. So keep exercise to a maximum of 15 mins a day.

Dietary exercise doesn't need to be done in the gym either. It can be done at home and even during lunchbreaks. Nine minutes of cardio in the morning is advised with a couple of minutes in the afternoon of something simple like stair climbing. Then 10-15 reps of push ups/ab crunches in the evening and that really is sufficient enough exercise, if you are following the correct diet plan of course.

Tip #3 - Make Sure The Science Stands Up

What this means is, make sure the content of the book/program you are following stands up scientifically and is produced by qualified people. This is critically important because many diet products try to 'stand out' by being different. The danger with that sometimes thats all they focus on and the product itself is either ineffective of using unhealthy methods.

Now, you dont have to be a scientist yourself to research this.

Just watch out for anything that sounds a bit strange and out of the ordinary and if the alarm bell rings, just google it, do some research. But I will say this here... in no uncertain terms: "Do not go on any diet plan boasting about using lots of sugar free products". They are almost certain to contain Aspartame or Splenda. Aspartame is a terrible neurotoxin and using products which contain it is really a step back for your health. So avoid (even if your not dieting)
