The learning of Reiki is uniquely different to training in the strict sense of the word.

Although there are aspects of it which are written and studied, stuff like the Hand Positions and the meanings of the symbols, but more then anything else Reiki is an intuitive form of healing. And thus the actual book learning is quite limited.

In reading about this subject you will know something about the reiki attunements and it is the attunements which make reiki quite different from other forms of training.

The attunements which are spiritual exercises open you up or tune you in to Reiki.

There is an attunement for each level and there are 3 levels in all.

Each level of reiki training is designed around some study, the attunement for that level and then practice.

When you have been attuned and as you practice Self Healing, giving Healing to others and meditating upon Reiki you will come to understand Reiki much better.

Reiki is a very intuitive thing and as you continue with your attunements and continue to practice and perform self healing you will see your ability to use it intuitively increase.

Responsibility and intuition are very closely linked, so you will find that as you can take more personal responsibility for the healing you are performing the more your intuition will kick in.

This is another one of the aspects of this training which sets it apart from traditional training.

Intuition in using this will come to you easily if you simply continue to practice and do your self healing. The small amount of study involved is mealy a pointer. You will learn much more about reiki as you look in the direction you are pointed by the training.

How training is carried out.

The are many words written about reiki and the various aspects of it.

The point is that while it is a good idea to see what others have written, there is a possibility of overload.

The small amount of actual written study material in the courses gives the student the opportunity to look deeply for themselves.

As with any subject you might study you will find many differing opinions and different stresses and importance's placed upon those opinions.

Some masters have introduced new forms of reiki along with new symbols etc.

Some have changed the training schedule and added more levels.

So we can see that it is easy to go off the tracks. Within them all one thing is constant and that is Usui Reiki.

My point is that if you are going to take reiki training it is best to get the absolute basics down cold first and then allow that to resonate with you and through you until you come to understand the subject from an intuitive standpoint.

Then if you feel the need to branch out further I'm sure that you will find many avenues to explore.

The fundamentals Of Reiki Training.

Besides the sea of data about Reiki, here are the few drops of pure water and they have remained unchanged in usui reiki since Dr. Usui first introduced the subject and these are .

  1. The meaning of the word reiki

  2. The Four Reiki Symbols

  3. The hand positions

  4. The Three Reiki Attunements

  5. The reiki principles.

Those are the 5 core elements of reiki training and should be well learned by the student.

The 6th element is practice as this is where your intuitive understanding of reiki comes from. At this point you will notice that you are not thinking about what you are doing. You will find that you are simply doing it.

Other forms of Reiki training is always interesting but the above points are indispensable.
