Swim Venture, formerly known as Shoreline Swim School was founded by Todd and Jill Sousa in 1994. Swim Venture has grown from a single outdoor facility to now managing multiple indoor pools and outdoor facilities throughout Orange County. The mission of Swim Venture is to provide the best learn-to-swim experience imaginable. We provide indoor adventure island swim schools conveniently located in every community to keep children swimming year-round and to provide their parents with the necessary drowning prevention education. Swim Venture uses a fun and imaginative approach to help students create a life-long love for swimming reducing childhood drowning by teaching children how to swim as soon as they can learn to walk.
For infants beginning classes between the ages of 8 weeks and 6 months, the classes will serve to maintain their comfort in the water and ability to hold their breath and avoid panic. For children beginning between the ages of 6 and 12 months, the classes help to make them comfortable in the water and to regain the ability they once had to hold their breath. For toddlers beginning classes between the ages of 12 and 35 months, they will learn to hold their breath on cue and to survival float. Swim Venture also helps every adult learn to love the water; once an adult becomes confident that the water will hold them up, they will be ready to begin learning proper swim strokes.
Swim Venture provides different Swim Camps for beginners through advanced swimmers ages 5-14 who have completed Level 4 of our Learn-to-Swim program. Swim Camp is designed to teach the proper swim strokes, starts and turns. They teach an easy-to-follow skill progression that will help you learn how to swim with proper stroke technique. You can have a pool party anytime of the year at one of their indoor heated pool facilities! Pool parties are perfect for any occasion: birthdays, graduations, team sports, and more! They have Pirate, Princess and Luau-Themed parties available. Gather friends together for a fun afternoon in the pool with mermaids and pirates!
It is a fact that drowning is the leading cause of injury death of children under five years of age in 18 states. From 1991-1996, 47 children under five years of age drowned in Orange County, mostly in pools and spas. We value the life of every child and are committed to drowning prevention education. Swim Venture has been recognized for the commitment to water safety by the Orange County Fire Authority, American Red Cross, Orange County Health Department and several nationally-syndicated radio talk shows. Swim Venture believes the key to water safety and drowning prevention is parent education and helping children develop swim safety skills. Swim Venture provides Lifeguard Training Courses & Learn-to-Swim Services for many of Orange County s pools. Swim Venture has been providing complete pool management service for years.
