What is a brainwave entrainment MP3? What can it help you achieve? How and where can you get one and how best to use it?

Brainwave Entrainment

Brainwave entrainment is the process of making your brainwaves (the electrical activity of the brain that can be measured with equipment) oscillate at a specific frequency. Why would you want to do that?

By pushing your brain to oscillate at a particular frequency then you can help to achieve a different state of mind.

For example, when you are creative, when you are asleep, when you are dreaming, when you are working hard, when you are relaxed - all of these different states produce different frequencies of brainwaves. Therefore, it also follows that by forcing the brain to assume these frequencies that you can also reproduce these states whenever you want to.

Audio And MP3s

The most common and accessible method of brainwave entrainment is audio. Thanks to the Internet and the ease with which anyone can buy and access music and other audio, it has now become very easy to access such audio and the most common format is the well-known MP3.

This technology works by playing two similar but different frequencies into each ear e.g. 95 Hz and 100 Hz. The difference between the frequencies (5 Hz in this case) is interpreted by the brain as a beat frequency that it should try to synchronize with.

Where To Buy Brainwave Entrainment MP3s

There are a number of organizations producing MP3s that can be downloaded in a matter of seconds.

Some companies release only a few titles whereas others have an "online store" type setup where you can pick and choose your MP3s before finally checking out. For example, you might want to buy one mp3 to help you go to sleep and another to help you with ideas.

Bit Rate

It is very important that any MP3s you purchase have been produced at a high "bit rate". Bit rate is a measure of quality and is usually quoted in "kilobit per second". I recommend looking for a minimum of 192 and ideally 256 or higher.

If MP3s are not of a sufficiently high quality then they simply won't work effectively.

Alternatives

While the most common format you will find is the MP3, you may also come across other formats such as regular audio Cd's or lossless formats such as "OGG". The advantage of these formats is that they are both easily above the minimum quality threshold for brainwave entrainment to work effectively.
