Discount vitamins can alleviate one of the major concerns of most people these days --health care costs. The use of vitamins is one important component in preventing health problems and, therefore, reducing health care costs. Having a wide selection of discount vitamins goes even further toward reducing health care costs.
While having discount choices for all the vitamins is important for health prevention, it is the availability of discounted vitamins for the vitamin B group that is especially useful for good health. The B vitamins affect every system and every function of the body.
Below are just a few of the ways the B vitamins impact human life.
Vitamin B-1, Thiamin
Vitamin B-1 is necessary for healthy functioning of the circulatory and nervous systems. It assists in the formation of blood cells and improves blood circulation. By helping carbohydrate metabolism and digestion it enhances energy production. It also benefits the nervous system by increasing mental alertness, reducing forgetfulness and improving mental attitude.
Deficiency of thiamin can lead to irritability, depression, heart or intestinal problems.
Vitamin B-2, Riboflavin
Vitamin B-2 is necessary for red blood cell formation. It promotes cell respiration and the oxygenation of the skin, hair and nails. It also improves the metabolizing of food. Without B-2 the body would shut down as the production of adrenal hormones could not occur without the presence of riboflavin.
Being deficient in B-2 can lead to retarded growth, digestive and skin problems.
Vitamin B-3, Niacinamide/Niacin
Niacin is another B vitamin that supports the circulatory system. It dilates blood vessels, reduces blood pressure, improves resistance to stress, regulates blood sugar and aids in the healthy functioning of the nervous system.
Not enough B-3 can cause pellagra, muscular weakness, fatigue, depression, intestinal distress and loss of appetite.
Vitamin B-6, Pyridoxine
Pyridoxine is another vitamin that strongly affects human life. It is important for young and old people because it reduces heart disease by stopping the formation of toxic chemicals that would otherwise attack the heart and allow the formation of cholesterol in the heart. B-6 also aids in the normal function of the nervous system and the brain.
Too little B-6 causes nervousness, loss of muscle control, increased cholesterol formation and insomnia among other problems.
Vitamin B-12, Cobalamin
Cobalamin is one of the most important B vitamins. It enhances the health of the circulatory, immune, nerve and digestive system. It supports the use of protein and carbohydrates. It may even protect against cancer caused by smoking.
Lack of B-12 causes poor concentration, memory and balance problems, bone loss, hallucinations, anemia and spinal cord degeneration.
With B-12 affecting so many body systems, the existence of discounted vitamins means that people from every segment and age group in society can protect their health by having affordable access to this powerful vitamin.
Pantothenic Acid
Pantothenic acid is a powerhouse. It is an aid to reducing stress because it supports the adrenal glands. It also helps in detoxifying pesticides and herbicides. It helps in preventing the degeneration of cartilage in joints and arthritis.
A lack of pantothenic acid can cause retarded growth, skin problems, and digestive disturbance.
Biotin
Biotin helps the body use protein and thus supports cell growth in nerves, bone cells, blood cells, skin and hair. It also reduces blood sugar for diabetics.
A biotin deficiency can cause exhaustion, muscle pain, depression and poor skin tone.
Folic Acid
This member of the vitamin B family reduces the risk of heart attacks, regulates fetal nerve formation, support healthy functioning of the brain and enhances the formation and function of white blood cells.
A folic acid deficiency can cause anemia, intestinal distress or birth defects.
It is easy to see that the B vitamins are vital to good health, to life itself. Discount vitamins allow more people access to these necessary nutrients so good health is not so much a financial problem.
