Are you dreaming of a better body and a better life? It's obvious that the way a person looks can affect the way they feel. If you're overweight, you're probably not miserable, but are certain of the fact that you could be much happier than you are today. There is a way to lose the extra weight that you are carrying around, but it's probably not what you have in mind. The tips that are about to be revealed work. If you want to lose weight quickly, follow these tips and watch your life change for the better:

  1. Never Skip Breakfast - Skipping breakfast is perhaps one of the worst things you can do when trying to lose weight. Why would you want to starve yourself? Are you hoping that not eating will cause you to lose weight? The TRUTH is that when you do finally eat (and you will because if you do not, you will die of starvation, regardless of how overweight you are - your body needs nutrients), you're going to end up overeating and causing your body to transform the excess calories into fat. Eat breakfast because it really is the most important meal of the day.

  2. Eat Every Few Hours - Eating small, frequent meals throughout the day will help you to stay full and keep you from overeating. A person who eats one large meal each day is more apt to become overweight than an individual who eats five to seven smaller meals per day because their body's are not burning calories. Food is what gives the body energy and eating frequently will also keep your blood sugar levels regulated. If you eat too much less often, your metabolism will drop considerably and set you up for weight gain. Eating too much less often also spikes your blood sugar and then sends it racing back down just as quickly, leaving you even more hungry than before.

  3. Consume Protein at Every Meal - The huge difference between protein and carbohydrates is that protein fills you up more and has less of an affect on your blood sugar. You should try to include at least one small serving of protein and fiber in every meal that way you stay satisfied and feel less tempted to overeat or eat again before you are sincerely hungry. Your body will also be provided with more energy, thus burning more calories and giving you a higher metabolism.

  4. Limit Snacks - One mistake that people make is eating when they're not hungry. It's not uncommon to mistake hunger with thirst or fatigue - it happens all the time. If it hasn't been very long since your last meal, the best thing you can do is drink some water or take a short walk for a boost of energy. Always make sure that you give yourself at least two to three hours between meals before eating again so you do not overdo it on calories. Remember, too many calories turn into fat.

  5. Make Sure You're Eating Enough - Perhaps you're an athlete or maybe you have a full schedule that requires you to be on the go all day. Depending on how active you are, you may require a few more calories than someone who otherwise doesn't do as much. Eat until you are full, but do not eat until you feel "stuffed". Make sure the calories you consume are healthy calories such as those that comes from foods like broccoli, apples, peaches, chicken, turkey, oatmeal, yogurt, and other healthy, whole foods. Try to cut down on sodas, fast foods, and processed foods as much as possible as the nutritional value is very minimal.

By following these simple tips, your metabolism will increase considerably. You won't have any difficulty losing weight, nor will you feel hungry. It's amazing how much a simple increase in metabolism can change a person's life for the better.
