No one is amazed when animals seek out and find the foods that are best for them; horses nibble on grass and alfalfa, giraffes strip leaves from trees, and carnivores eat other animals. Animals that are sick or injured, instinctively seek out willow trees and organic herbs to relieve their pain and help promote natural healing and no one is surprised. Elephants, whose diets contain high amounts of toxins, seek out a specific type of clay to eat that absorbs and neutralizes those toxins. Animals instinctively consume those substances they need for powerful health and natural healing. People, on the other hand, must use knowledge and choice to create powerful health.
Natural healing occurs when a human body has all of the tools it needs to repair, heal, and care for itself. Sailors of olden times often lost their teeth to scurvy due to an inadequate supply of Vitamin C. By providing the body with Vitamin C, in the form of lemons, limes, and oranges, those sailors were using natural healing methods to preserve their teeth and their lives.
While diet and supplements cannot always replace the need for certain surgeries or other medical treatments, using organic herbs, a good diet, clean water, and a reasonable level of activity can very often prevent illness, as well as speed recovery from many diseases and injuries. Creating powerful health requires nothing more than following the tried and true methods of living the life people are meant to live.
One Foot In Front Of The Other
Getting outside and active are two major components of powerful health and natural healing. Walking is an excellent way to get the exercise needed, while also absorbing Vitamin D from sunlight. Vitamin D helps the body use the calcium consumed to build strong bones and teeth. Regularly walking outside also stimulates the other senses by providing a variety of natural inputs: birds singing, the wind on skin, the smell of flowers, beautiful vistas to enjoy. Providing these inputs stimulates the mind and helps to relieve stress and tension.
As you walk, be sure to carry fresh, clean water and drink frequently. One of the most common causes of illness and obesity are dehydration. Coffee, soft drinks, and alcohol all work as diuretics, which means they remove water from tissues, rendering them less able to perform normal tasks, increasing the likelihood of toxins being left behind. In addition, dehydration is often interpreted as hunger, which leads to over eating and obesity.
Food As Fuel
No one would put sugar in your gas tank because of the damage it would cause the engine. In the same way, eating overly processed foods that are packed with preservatives, hormones, and artificial colors and flavors interferes with the natural healing abilities we were born with. Our bodies cannot attain powerful health if we regularly eat poor quality foods. Whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and plant oils must be the primary source of fuel to keep the body operating properly.
These superfoods provide the nutrients, building blocks, and armaments needed to combat illness, to fight off infection, and to maintain powerful health. There are many organic herbs individuals can add to food as it is being prepared, if they have the time to study all of the effective organic herbs available today. Taking supplements is a far easier and simpler way of ensuring powerful health. Just as Vitamin C helps strengthen cell walls, so, too, do organic herbs and other supplements provide powerful health and natural healing, without spending a lifetime researching the processes.
