Unconventional Gas Industry
It is thought that unconventional gas production will account for more than half of America's gas supply in twenty years. One of the main methods being used is barnett shale production, amongst others. Developments in technology have made way for new and exciting energies to reach fruition.
New and prosperous energies are cropping up as scientists constantly search for ways to improve existing methods of drilling for oil. New resources like gases, minerals, and by-products of oil are discovered beneath the earth's surface frequently. To harness these resources and improve methods of drilling for oil is as financially sound as it is practical.
For more than a century, oil and petroleum products have powered the world. Motor fuel demand has only grown during this time, and continues to increase as time goes on. Many analysts believe that in the upcoming decades this demand is set to double. To accommodate this, the world needs oil and gas.
Most people do not realize just how much oil truly is in our lives on a day to day basis. It is not only found in our vehicles, but in thousands of everyday products designed to make us more comfortable. For example, petroleum can be found in many moisturizers and in Vaseline. Crude oil is refined into mixtures that are then used to produce products like detergents, drugs, synthetic rubber, plastics and fibers, and more. Without oil, we wouldn't have all of these products which make drugs to fight off illness, or even that make our clothing more comfortable to wear!
Top 3 Types of Petroleum Products:
There are three major types of petroleum based products. Firstly you have fuels such as gasoline and diesel. Secondly there are non fuel based products such as solvents and lubricating oils. Lastly but not least there are feedstocks such as naphtha.
It is quite obvious that oil and all of its by-products are not only extremely versatile, but extremely necessary as well. Our society, whether we like it or not, is highly dependent on this resource. Transportation is a huge factor, and it is not just in our vehicles. The airline industry is one of the biggest oil consumers on the planet and we have yet to discover a viable alternative. The industrial sector comes in second, and the remaining consumption can be attributed to commercial and home use.
So far humans have produced or extracted over 1 trillion barrels of oil. With the demand likely to double in decades to come we are looking at double our oil extraction and therefore oil exploration in less than one quarter of the time. Therefore oil exploration and unconventional gas and oil discoveries are paramount to the near future. These new discoveries and exploration are likely to come from unconventional resources and as-yet-undiscovered conventional oil. Since demand is only increasing the race to find the most efficient way of using our existing resources and discovering new by products may well be the most important next steps. The future lies in resource management and exploration for now.
Strike Energy is a leading company in the exploration of oil. They are on the leading edge of coal and gas. Strike Energy specialize in underground coal gasification, unconventional gas. and coal methane.
