Madrid is truly a bundle of energy everywhere. Be it day or night, it swings with fun filled activities. Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is a must see place in the city, owing to its history and heritage. You can plan for open-bus tour or walking tour of the city which allows you to explore the city in a comfortable way. Buy a Madrid card and take a ride for free to the world’s finest museums - Prado Museum, Thyssen Museum and Reina Sofia. Take a break and listen to Flamenco or head on for Spain’s National Fiesta, the bullfight to unwind yourself.
Transport from Barajas Airport: If you are visiting Madrid first time, you may not be aware about the choice of transport available from Barajas Airport to the city. Aerocity is a specialized taxi service at the airport which is much cheaper than taxi, which drops you at your destination point but it is a sort of share taxi. If you prefer a luxurious ride, then go for Ares mobile which is a fully personalized service. Alternatively, take Metro bus service which is affordable and available after every 10 minutes. Another option is to take a car for rental and drive your own way to the city, having fun and thrill. There is also Metro train service connecting virtually all parts of the town.
When to plan your travel: Best season to visit the place is from April to June (spring) and September and October (autumn) which makes it easy to explore, wander and shop during daylight. Madrid experiences extreme weather changes like burning heat in summer and freezing cold during winter. In winter, temperature may go below -10C during night time, making the place dry and cold. It is better to avoid the place during July and August, particularly if you are a person who cannot bear severe heat. After spring, the whole city springs into joy and action with beautiful green parks flowering all over the place, making it a perfect holiday destination in Spain.
Tours from Madrid: If you are planning to stay at Madrid to watch the football event or bull fight, then you have various options to visit major parts of Spain. You can go for a full day tour to Segovia and Avila. Twin charms of Segovia’s castle and Roman aqueduct enthrall the visitors all the way. Alternatively, spend few hours to visit Toledo for exploring the wonderful paintings of El Greco, the 16th century master painter. Aranjuez, a royal residence can be easily reached by train from Madrid. Enjoy and have a thrilling experience with your kids at Madrid’s theme parks. Take a bus from Mendez Alvaro Bus station to Consuegra to watch the windmill and saffron flower. Explore Salamanca, a few hours distance from Madrid which is a perfect holiday destination, famous for its university and nightlife.
