The greatest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup is taking place in South Africa this year. One of the best ways to show support for your favourite teams is by wearing World Cup shirts – you can wear them even after the tournament is over, anywhere on the planet, because the World Cup is universal. Owning your very own FIFA World Cup shirt is a great way to show your support for your favourite country, a great way to celebrate the good times, and a great way to remember the most popular sporting event that only comes once in four years.
All of the teams that are participating in the World Cup 2010 have shirts that you can buy. These shirts come in a variety of colours, sizes and styles, and are also affordable! There are quite a few striking designs out there, each sponsored by big names such as Adidas, Nike and Puma. In general, all World Cup shirts sponsored by Nike have the famous ‘tick’ in the top right section of the shirts, adjacent to the respective countries official logo. Nike has sponsored quite a few teams – some of which are highlighted below.
The US team, are carrying the Nike logo on off-white, or extremely light grey in colour shirts, depending on the discerning eye. With a black tick, there is nothing really exciting about this shirt.
Slovenia decided to play it very safe with white shirts with a green tick.
The South Korea is in red shirts, with a white Nike tick. With blue collars, and a fancy tiger design in the background to tally with the Korean Football logo, this is a nicely designed World Cup shirt.
The Serbian shirt is rather unique – it is red, with a vertical and horizontal white line intersecting with their official logo. The Nike sign, which is also in red, is within the horizontal white line – a neat shirt to have!
The Netherlands team obviously has their shirts in their signature orange colour. With a white Nike tick, this shirt screams ‘Netherlands’!
The New Zealand All Whites – are yes, in all white! Their Nike logo and official football logo is in black, no surprises there.
Portugal players are as usual sporting their bright red and green shirts, with a white Nike tick.
The number one team Brazil, are in their famous yellow shirts, with a green Nike tick. Although the shirt is plain, it really is one of the most striking because of its bright shade of yellow.
