How to Find the Perfect Bed and Breakfast on PEI
One of the most charming and economical ways to travel is to books your stop overs at local B&B inns. B&B stands for bed and breakfast, because that is what you get-a place to lay down and breakfast in the morning before you head out to continue your trip. There are quality B&Bs all over Prince Edward Island, with innkeepers willing to go that extra mile to ensure you and your family have a happy and safe visit, during your time under their roof.
B&Bs are always unique offering one of a kind amenities. The best way to find the ones right for you is to first select a region where you want to be. If you like theater than consider staying in or near Old Charlottetown, which offers walks to the nearby restaurant and theater district, or the waterfront. You might even find yourself just wandering around, looking at the impressive historic architecture of the buildings.
If you're looking to slow down and chill, so to speak, then choose regions along the south, east or west coasts. There are literally miles and miles of beautiful coastline from which to choose, so locating near the sea or on a beach is easier than you might think. Each town or village has its own particular treasures hidden away waiting to be discovered. The best thing about B&B operations is that they are usually owner operated, meaning you get nothing but personal service. There are small quaint hideaways to huge historic guesthouses, in country-rustic settings or extra luxurious locations in the bigger cities. After choosing the region where you'd like to visit, go online and do a little research about that particular part of Prince Edward Island. Then call your travel agent for more detailed information about the area in mind.
While you're at it, you may want to explore the three Coastal Drives, including the North Cape Coastal, the Central Coastal Drive, Points East Coastal Drive and Green Gables Land. Each drive features different types of bed and breakfast, inn and resort locations. Traveling through the various towns and communities will take you through many different cultures, industries and landscapes. Be on the lookout for the wildlife, from eagles and seals, to silver fox and waterfowl. Take time to enjoy the food and local wine on your stops to wherever.
