If your child is beginning to learn piano and is having trouble getting enthused about the idea there are a number of different sheet music themes that kids will relate to.
My young daughter showed an interest in playing piano from a young age, not so much because of my own piano playing (I can't) or the fact that we had a piano in the house (we didn't until recently) but because she loved Harry Potter.
On the odd occasion we went to a music store she would find a piano that we allowed her to sit at and then try to play the first few notes of John William's famous Hedwig's Theme, the main score for the Harry Potter films. Seeing this I finally decided it was time for me to learn piano, one of the things on my "List Of Things To Do Before I Die" and in doing so, introduce her to piano as well.
Rather than get her lessons at this stage I went to lessons myself and also purchased the Harry Potter Easy Piano Sheet music. Through learning this together (and very roughly mind you) she developed a real interest for the piano and a yearning to learn. Now she can't wait to get lessons and learn herself.
So my daughter's entry point was Harry Potter but for your child it might be different. There are a number of Easy Piano books out there and all require a level of beginner competence but if you help your child then playing a few notes that sound like a favourite song can spur them on to learn more.
If your child loves Disney then you could try "Teaching Little Fingers to Play: Disney Tunes" which is aimed at early beginners and includes songs like 'Kiss The Girl' and 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight'.
There is other sheet music from famous musicians, films and tv series that kids are interested in so if your child is not engaging with the piano, sit down with them and help them become interested with music that interests them.
