George Best (1963-1974)

Quite simply one of the best players ever, not just at Manchester United, but Worldwide. On his death in 2005 he went a legend among football fans. Coming from Northern Ireland George Best picked up the European Cup and European Footballer of the Year in 1968. Scoring 179 goals during his time at United, including 32 goals in the 1967/1968 season. He is greatly regarded by fans as the most talented football player in the history of the sport, and few would disagree.

Bobby Charlton (1954-1973)

One of the longest serving players ever for the club, he scored 249 goals across an incredible 17 seasons. A World Cup winner in 1966, and he still playing an ambassador role for Manchester United even now, Bobby Charlton was one of the clubs greats, superb skills and an appetite for attack made sure the opposition took notice whenever he played.

Denis Law (1962-1973)

A goal scoring legend for Manchester United, Denis Law was one of the clubs most prolific goal scorers through the 1's and into the 70's. 171 goals in 309 appearances, and European Footballer of the Year 1964 along with being an FA CUP winner 1963, he's impossible to leave out. Despite some referee's seemingly having problems with him, he carried on to play well and was a consistent performer for the club for 11 years.

Eric Cantona (1992-1997)

Whilst he will probably be best remembered for his anger and aggressive style of play, Eric Cantona was a top player in his own right and will be remembered fondly by younger Manchester United fans. Cantona won four Premier League titles in his five years at the club and voted the clubs player of the century. Now enjoying a film career and taking some first steps in management, Cantona is set in gold as a legend at Manchester United.

Roy Keane (1993-2005)

Another modern hero for clubs fans, this time its Roy Keane. His aggressive manner and assertiveness when playing made sure his opponents always knew when he was close. He was by no means a heavy goal scorer for the club, but did more then others in recent years to bring glory and silverware to the club, he lead from the front and kept United competitive throughout most of his time at the there.
