No matter how much or how little experience you have with the game, you'll find that a San Diego golf facility offers something for the entire family. And with a variety of San Diego tee times, you and your family can schedule games when San Diego golf courses are not nearly as crowded – which also means that your greens fees are going to be less as well.

San Diego Golf Choices

San Diego golf is offered at both private county clubs as well as many well-maintained, low-cost, citizen-funded San Diego public golf facilities. There are distinct advantages to each; for example, a San Diego golf course at one of the area's exclusive private country clubs usually offers many amenities, such as restaurants, cocktail lounges, reception facilities and even alternatives such as tennis and swimming pools. The downside is that such clubs tend to be expensive and usually require that one be sponsored by a current member in good standing in order to gain membership. In addition, a private San Diego golf course typically requires a long-term commitment, though visitors to the area can often purchase a two-week temporary membership.

If you are a visitor to the area, you'll most likely prefer the lower costs and convenience of a San Diego public golf course; while these may not have dining facilities or other amenities, the courses themselves compare quite favorably with their privately-owned counterparts. On the other hand, if you are planning to settle in San Diego – and particularly if you have family members who are not themselves golfers – a private San Diego golf facility may suit your needs quite well so that the wife and kids can occupy themselves with other activities while you're tear up the greens.

The other advantage to the private San Diego golf and country club is of course the event facilities, that are available to members for such things as weddings, graduation parties, bar-mitzvahs and such. These may be included in the membership fees. If they're not, your family will most certainly be entitled to membership discounts on such services.

Remember San Diego Tee Times

Keep in mind that regardless of whether you plan on playing at a San Diego public golf course or a private country club, you'll have to schedule your tee time in advance. Fortunately, virtually all San Diego golf courses maintain web sites through which you can book tee times of your choosing. Remember that your typical San Diego golf course is going to be much less crowded during the week, meaning you'll be able to enjoy a more pleasant and relaxed round of San Diego golf.
