Ever read something that just takes your breath away - because it seems to be

written just for you? That's what happened this morning when I read "Let

Silence Speak" by my dear friend, Sharon Frame.

Usually I meditate twice a day but the last few mornings I've been cutting

them a little shorter than my usual half hour morning and evening. That's

because I have SO much to do getting ready for those Colorado gigs - and

there just aren't enough hours in the day.

And then I read Sharon's article.

Please read it and tell me if it hits you that way too - or write your

comments below about techniques you use to keep your life flowing smoothly

and effortlessly.

Here's what Sharon wrote:

Let Silence Speak

By SHARON FRAME

I am learning to be silent.

For me, that's like telling a precocious bird who just discovered her wings

not to fly. It's like draining the liquid from running water.

Yet it must be done.

I get a power surge from sitting silently in God's presence.
Silence

speaks volumes.
It reminds me to walk in love, and to see the "God"ness in

everyone I meet.

It reaffirms the greatness in me.

Silence pulls back the curtain and reveals the infinite possibilities that

self-doubt and unbelief work so hard to hide.
In silent meditation, God

connects the dots to this maze called life. He gives clear answers to the

struggles that seem hell-bent on disrupting my peace.

When I sit in silence, God whispers His will and reveals the way to

"sweatless victory."
"Be still and know that I am God," He says.

But shutting off the noise of human reason and getting quiet is not easy.

Life's daily run keeps us busy. We get caught up in the hurry going no where.

Yet we choose to keep running on the same hamster wheel.

We won't stop, be silent and get divine directions.

It's so easy to complicate life by overlooking the value of simple silence.

We say, "surely the Omnipotent Creator of the vast universe must require

more."

What He calls for is an ear fine-tuned to hear His voice. And that "still,

small voice" is best discerned after we drown out our own thoughts of defeat

and discouragement.

Listen for God's presence in the silence.
For here is where Almighty

reminds us that "all things are possible, if we believe."

When we find that quiet spot and center on silence, we hear the whisper of

our Creator saying "let go and let God." Almighty knows the path we should

take. And He delights in those who seek His counsel.

But oh how the dizzying rush of daily life distracts.
We go to bed busy.

We wake up still tired.
By day, we worry about recession, wars and our

family's well being.
At night we toss and turn in fear, disturbing our own

dreams.
Tomorrow, we get up and cradle this madness as normal, even while

we curse its vicious, senseless cycle.

Stress becomes our taskmaster.

The more we work the further behind we fall. We can't clear the chaos on our

calendar fast enough.
We wonder out loud why everybody seems to be getting

ahead in life except us.

Seek the answer in the silence.

Before your mind turns up the dial to life's noisy confusion, shift your

frequency to silence.

Listen more to God.

He waits to replenish us each day well before the dawn; before chaos clouds

our sunrise.

Let silence set the tone.

Let it shout so loud with hope and possibility that nothing else matters,

except the voice of God cheering you on.
